Bloody surnames!

Surnames or family names are plague the world don't want to get rid off. I am not wrong. I don't say people should be ashamed of announcing their family names, but I believe it should not have more priority than our first names.

Some don't like surnames because their surnames are funny. Like the family name " kakku" , some names are pretty embarrassing. Some are hard to pronounce and some are hard to spell ( I am a victim of this category family names),  but mostly they reveal a lot about our ancestors, where they lived, what's our caste and sub caste. I don't mind if the person gets some knowledge out of my surname, but usually his behavior and treatment towards me changes after that. It could be in a negative way or in positive, if he wants to hate me or like me, it should be based on me but not on my surname.  Of course it might be essential to reveal it when one is searching for bride or groom, but absolutely unnecessary when you are in a party and socializing.

Why can't they have the confidence that their first names, their behavior and  their looks are  enough to make nice impression. Of course many think even their surname is not good enough so bring out the caste in small talk too.

I am not all will support my views on this but there is one guy whose support i can count on. That guy is late M.K.Gandhi,  just because his family name is homonym with surname of indira gandhi's husband . Of course there are  other reasons why some people dislike him, but this should not be one of them.

Rajyasabha seat is not just a honorary position

Sachin and rekha to become rajyasabha MPs. Are they so great? Yes, they are great. So do they deserve to be Rajyasabha MPs? No, because MP seat is not a honorary thing like Padmasri or Bharata ratna. Already govt agreed to include sports as a category to get India's highest civilian award, when sachin is struggling to make the 100th century. Let him have two Bharatha Ratnas, but why a seat in parliament?

Many  think that Rajyasabha is powerless and it's for the able ministers who can't woo voters but have wisdom in a particular area like Manmohan Singh or arun jaitly. Of course, it should be powerless, or else it would be called rule of the elite class, not democracy. Then what is the purpose of such a house in democracy?

From the very first time the idea of democracy was born, political thinkers are bugged with one flaw of people in general, i.e. humans are emotional .  There is a fat chance ( not normal fat, sumo-fat ) that, the voters will fall for the magic of speaker and elect him like in the case of lalu prasad. let's say voters are at their right mind when they elected the policy makers, but even policy makers are humans. They could commit errors in policy making in an emotional state, which will be fatal for the nation. To prevent such things, political thinkers came up with the idea of senate, which in Latin roughly means house of old or wisdom.

The job of these old guys is to create check point when the elected house, made an error in making a decision due to various reasons. That's it, only check points or warning or suggestion or to make the actual house to rethink it's decision.  But if the elected house is stubborn, it's word should be the last word, to make sure that, our loksabha is twice as large as Rajyasabha, so if both houses are at loggerheads, Loksabha prevails, after all its elected by the people !!

Now, to the actual question, can sachin or rekha can take up such a job? His batting performance dropped when captaincy was given to him, he requested govt of India to exempt import tax on his Ferrari because he played well many times and gave success to India. He never really expressed his opinions on match fixing or IPL scams. I am not against sachin, my point is, runs made on the cricket field does not make a person to sit in the house and scrutinize govt policies. If govt wants to honor him for his service to the nation, give him more awards, or create an award on his name and give it to crickets, like Dadasaheb phalke award, or offer him free petrol for his family for rest of the life.

And Rekha? Who's idea it is to send her to Rajyasabha? I would choose vivek oberai, he at least went to tsunami hit villages and served there for few days.

My point is, sending a person to the Rajyasabha is not like giving him a bank job where he gets the salary but never really works, or like giving him an honorary captain position in armed forces where he only ware the uniform to have photographs but never enters the war field.

The దురద

అటు ఇటు గా ఎనిమిదేళ్ళ క్రితం మొదలయ్యింది. ఏంటది అనగా ... చెవుల్లో దురద , వాటి వల్ల నేను పడ్డ బాధలు. రకరకాల వస్తువులు దూర్చే వాడిని , cotton ear buds తప్ప.  ఎందుకంటే వాటిని షాప్ కి వెళ్లి తెచ్చుకోవాలి, మరియు  హాస్పిటల్ లో వాది పారేసిన దూదితో అవి తాయారు చేస్తారు అన్న పుకారు కూడా ఉంది. స్క్రూ డ్రైవర్లు, టూత్ పిక్స్ , పెన్ను రిఫిల్స్ ,  పెన్ను కాప్స్ ( రేనాల్డ్స్ మాత్రమే పడుతుంది చెవిలో), న్యూస్ పేపర్స్ ( అన్నిటి మీద ప్రయోగాలూ  చేసాను, టైమ్స్ అఫ్ ఇండియా బెస్ట్ చెవిలో పెట్టుకుని తిప్పుకోడానికి , తెలుగు పేపర్స్ అస్సలు సౌకర్యంగా ఉండవు, ఇంగ్లీష్ పేపర్స్ లో వరస్ట్ అంటే హిందూ, డెక్కన్ క్రోనికాల్ ), హెయిర్ పిన్స్ , అగ్గిపుల్లలు ( wax వి కావు)   చిన్న చిన్న వైరు ముక్కలు , చీపురు పుల్ల, mobile stylus,  బైకుల తాళం చెవులు ( వీటిలో బెస్ట్ హోండా ఆక్టివా తాళంచెవి, సన్నగా పొడుగ్గా, లోపల గోక్కోడానికి బాగుంటుంది, బజాజ్ బైక్ల తాళాలు బాగుండవు, హోండా బైక్ తాళాలు అయితే ఓకే ) . అన్నిటికన్నా జాగ్రత్తగా రిఫిల్స్ విషయం లో ఉండాలి, రేఫిల్ వెనకవైపు చెవిలో పెట్టుకోవాలి కానీ, నిబ్ ఉన్నవైపు పెట్టుకుంటే , చెవి పైన కూడా గీతాలు పడే అవకాశం ఎక్కువ. అదే సమయం లో గొంతు-చెవి-ముక్కు వైద్యుడి దగ్గరకి వెళ్తే, అతను కంగారు పడే అవకాశం కూడా ఉంది.

ఈ దురదలు మొదలయిన దగ్గర నుంచి , నాకు మనుష్యుల ఆలోచనా విధానం , వ్యసనం గురించి చాల విషయాలు అర్థమయ్యాయి. మొదట్లో దురద ఉంటేనే చెవిలో ఏదన్న పెట్టె వాడిని...నెమ్మదిగా అదొక వ్యసనం అయ్యింది. మందు దొరక్క, సిగరెట్ దొరక్క ప్రజలు ఎందుకంత  బాధ పడతారో అర్థం అయ్యింది.

ఇలా చెవుల్లో అవి ఇవి పెట్టడం వల్ల ఇన్ఫెక్షన్ వచ్చి జ్వరాలు వచ్చేవి, క్రోసిన్ , నైస్ టాబ్లెట్స్ సేల్స్ పెంచాను బాగా, తర్వాత కొంతకాలం హోమియోపతితో ఉపశమనం లభించినా , ఎక్కువకాలం పని చెయ్యలేదు అది. పోయిన నెల బాగా నొప్పి, జ్వరం ఎక్కువయ్యి ఇక లాభం లేదని, సికింద్రాబాద్ లో Dr. దీన్దయాళ్ ని దీనంగా దర్శించాను, అయన దయతో నా ముక్కులో , నోట్లో, చెవుల్లో కెమెరాలు పెట్టి చూసి ( రూం లో ఉన్న అన్ని అయిదు స్క్రీన్స్ లోను అదే, నా ముక్కులో చెత్త, ఇన్ఫెక్షన్ ఉన్న చెవి, నా నాలిక దాని మీద అంతకు ముందు తాగిన లస్సీ ), వాటిని ప్రింట్ తీసి నా చెతిలో పెట్టి,  నీది ఆయిలీ స్కిన్, దాని మీద చుండ్రు ఉండడం వల్ల ఇలా జరుగుతోంది అని చెప్పి, మందులిచ్చి, చెవిలో ఒక క్లాంప్ పెట్టి,  మళ్ళి ఒక వారం తర్వాత రమ్మన్నాడు, ఈ వారం రోజుల పాటు, ఆ క్లాంప్ వల్ల నా మాటలు నాకే చెవిలో ప్రతిధ్వనించి, ఎదుటి వాడు గట్టిగా మాట్లాడుతుంటే ప్రతిఘటిస్తూ, నాకు కుడి వైపు కూర్చిన మాట్లాడే వాళ్ల మాటలు సరిగ్గా వినబదకపోయినా వినబదినట్టు తలకాయ ఊపుతూ, ఛాన్స్ దొరికినపుడు, అటు వైపు వచ్చి కూర్చొని, చెవిలో ఒక కీచురాయిని మైంటైన్ చేసాను. తర్వాత మళ్ళి డాక్టర్ దగ్గరకి వెళ్తే, అతను రెండు గంటలు లేటుగా Audi కార్ లో వచ్చి, "leave your ears alone" అని చెప్పి పంపించేసాడు.

నిన్నటినుంచి చేతులు చెవుల దగ్గరకి వెళ్ళకుండా చాలా కష్టపడుతున్నాను. చిత్రంగా క్లాంప్ లేకపోవడం వల్ల లేని ఆ గుయ్ మనే శబ్దాన్ని మిస్ అవుతున్నా . 

Famous or notorious

If a person wants to be remembered, he must do good deeds for the society, be selfless, live life with honesty and integrity blah blah blah ...all crap. All those things might bring an award and a title in his generation. Can't expect more than that. After two or three generations he will be mocked, insulted and will become a joker by the ordinary citizens. You need proof? Just check the opinions people hold on gandhi or nehru or Lincoln. If the expression " turning in the grave" is true, then we could attach turbines to their dead bodies and generate electricity. And what about the people who were called villains in their generation? It's likely that they might become heroes with two are three conspiracy theories attached to their stories defaming heroes of that time. Example is our beloved Hitler Still there are fans for Hitler . There might be cultural or religious or ideological reasons for the hero worship they get, but people forget that Hitler killed people in concentration camps. So, what happens after few generations? The dead guys are dead so we can't blame them for the change of public opinion after few generations. So the opinions take u turn in an attempt to prove that this generation is wiser than the old generation?

Corporate corruption

This is the corruption story i faced in non-govt organization.

Last month i have appeared for ISQTB certification test. The question paper is prepared by international software testing board and the test is conducted by Indian testing board. The exam center is MindQ coaching center at ameerpet.

I wrote it well ( At least i thought so). They said the results will be announced in one week or 10 days. Exactly after one week, at 9 pm i have received a call from one of the invigilator, informing that i have scored only 23 where i need to get 26 out of 40 to clear the test. And he assured me not to worry, as he has got a friend who will manage those 3 marks for some money. I stopped picking up his calls and when the results were announced i have failed the test with just 3 marks.

I was really pissed off and sent a mail to ISQTB but didn't get any reply  so far.

And we always think corruption is only in govt sector.

ప్రజల మనిషి అనిపించుకోడం ఎలా ?

అలా అనిపించుకోవాలి అంటే , 

1. సామాన్యప్రజనీకానికి కొంచం తెలిసి పూర్తిగా అర్థం కాని విషయాల మీద మాట్లాడాలి, అనగా , ఆర్ధిక శాస్త్రం , రూపాయి విలువ పడిపోడం , జన్ లోక్పాల్ బిల్ ఇలాంటివి అన్నమా, మనకి పెద్దగా తెలియక పోయినా పర్లేదు, కై ఎదుటివాడికి మాత్రం మనకు మించి తెలియకూడదు

2. ప్రస్తుతం ఉన్న ప్రభుత్వాన్ని తెగతిట్టాలి, అలా ప్రభుత్వాన్ని మాత్రమే తిట్టివదిలేస్తే ఎగస్పార్టీ మనిషి అనుకుంటారు, అందుకే చివర్లో అన్ని పార్టీలని తిట్టేయ్యాలి

3. అన్నీ కల్తీ అవుతున్నాయని, ఉప్పులు, పప్పులు, నూనెలు ఎక్కడా క్వాలిటీ ఉండటం లేదని గోల చెయ్యాలి. ( పొరపాటున కూడా జేబులో ఉన్న pendrive లో ఉన్న పైరసీ మూవీస్ గురించి మాట్లాడకూడదు )

4. మాటల మధ్యలో సిస్టం, సొసైటీ, సమాజం, వర్గాలు, కుల పిశాచి, వ్యవస్థ , ప్రజాస్వామ్యం లాంటి పదాలు వాడితే మస్తుంటుంది.  సామాజిక న్యాయం అని చిరంజీవి మొత్తుకోలా ? అలా అన్నమాట .

5. సమస్య గురించి మాత్రమే మాట్లాడాలి, దానికి గల కారణాలు, సమస్యని నివారించడానికి ఎం చెయ్యొచ్చు అన్న అభిప్రాయాలు లాంటివి మాట్లాడకూడదు, అసలు సమస్యకి పరిష్కారం లేదని నిరుత్సాహ పరచాలి, ఏ సమస్య అయినా ఇదే ట్రిక్ .... విశ్లేషణ చేయకూడదు, పరిష్కారం ఉందనుకూడదు

6, ప్రభుత్వం ఎం చేసినా ప్రైవేటు రంగం లాభాల కోసమే చేస్తోందని చెప్పాలి, ఈ ట్రిక్ కూడా బాగా పనిచేస్తుంది, కాని ఏవి ప్రభుత్వ సంస్థలు ఏవి ప్రైవేటు సంస్థలు అన్నా తెలిసి ఉండాలి, కొంతమంది పెద్దమనుష్యులు అసలు పెట్రోలు ధరలు పెరగడానికి కారణం కి ఈ ట్రిక్ వాడారు, కాకపోతే మనదగ్గర ఉన్న HP, BP , Indian Oil అన్ని ప్రభుత్వానివే,  రిటైల్ పెట్రోల్ మార్కెట్ లో ప్రైవేటు సంస్థల వాటా చాలా చాలా తక్కువ.

7. రాహుల్ గాంధీ లా రెండు రకాల ఇండియా గురించి ఎప్పుడు మాట్లాడుతుండాలి, ఒకటేమో మున్నాభాయి MBBS లో ఆ చైనా వాడు అరిచినట్టు , real india, poor india, hungry india. ఇంకోటి Pixar graphics వాళ్ళు చేసిన Imaginary India.

8. ఒక ఖద్దరు చొక్కా ( తెల్లది కాదు, తెలుపు ఖద్దరు మీద రాజకీయనాయకులు, రియల్ ఎస్టేట్ వాళ్ళు పేటెంట్ తీసుకున్నారు ), ఒక మాములు పాంటు , హవాయి చెప్పులు , చేతిలో గుడ్డ సంచి....అంటే గమ్యం మూవీ లో లొంగిపోయిన నక్సల్ లా తయారయితే మంచి impression వస్తుంది. అంత కష్టం అనుకుంటే , కనీసం చంకలో హిందూ పేపర్ అన్నా పెట్టుకుని తిరగాలి.

9. కొన్ని శ్రీ శ్రీ కవితలు, మానవ సంబంధాలన్నీ ఆర్ధిక సంబంధాలే, ప్రజలకి మతంనల్లమందు లాంటిది, ఏ దేశ చరిత్ర చూసినా  etc etc లాంటివి కొన్ని నాలిక మీద ఎప్పుడు ఉండాలి .  నిజానికి ఈ పాయింట్ 5 th point కి extension. Project no analyzation to understand the problem, no discussion to solve the problem, give only depressing statements.

10. ప్రభుత్వ ఉద్యోగులు చాల మంది ఖాళీగా ఉన్నారు వాళ్ళని తీసేయ్యాలి, వీళ్ళు నెమ్మదిగా పని చేస్తారు, ప్రైవేటీకరణ చెయ్యాలి అనాలి, తర్వాత నిరుద్యోగం పెరుగుతోంది ప్రభుత్వం ఉద్యోగాలు పెంచాలి అనాలి, మళ్ళి ఏ కంపెనీ అయినా ఇక్కడ ఇన్వెస్ట్ చెయ్యడానికి రాగానే వ్యతిరేకంగా గోల చెయ్యాలి.

11.  సునామీకి కారణం గ్రహన్తవాసులు సముద్రంలోకి ఈతకి కోసం దూకడం అనే వాడు హాలీవుడ్ డైరెక్టర్, దానికి కారణం అమెరికా వాడు వైట్ హౌస్ లోని చెత్తని రాకెట్ ద్వారా సముద్రం లో పడేసాడు, అందుకే అంత పెద్ద అల వచ్చింది అనే వాడు ప్రజల మనిషి.

12. ఏదయినా ఫంక్షన్ లో తినలేక ఎవరైనా ప్లేట్ పడేస్తుంటే "భారతదేశం లో చాలా మంది ఆకలి తో అలమటిస్తున్నారు, నువ్వేమో పరేస్తున్నావ్ " అనాలి, అప్పుడు మాత్రం చేతులు జేబుల్లో పెట్టుకునే ఉండాలి, చేతికున్న బ్రాస్లెట్ కనిపియ్యకూడదు, జేబులో i-phone మోగితే సైలెన్స్ చెయ్యడానికి పనికి వస్తుంది .

13. ఇక ఆర్కుట్ లోను ఫసుబూక్ లోను, ఈ ఫోటో షేర్ చేస్తే ఒక పిల్లాడికి భోజనం పెడతాం,  ఈ ఆట ఆడితే ఒకడికి బొంగరం కొంటాం లాంటి వాటి మీద బాగా క్లిక్ చేస్తూ ఉండాలి, ఇంకా ముంబై ధారవి పిక్స్ , ఆఫ్రికా లో పేగులు ఎముకుల కనిపించే చిన్న పిల్లల పిక్స్ కొన్ని ఉన్నాయి...అవి బాగా షేర్ చేస్తూ ఉండాలి,

Yup, thats the beauty, few more non-congress CMs are opposing NCTC.

I hate that too, not that those anti-terrorism laws are going to stop us, but it will be lot harder if a centralized system is working on terrorism.

well, those CMs have another reason, they are angry that states are not going to involved in it.

Why should they be? We are terrorists, we attack india and we choose a vulnerable place where maximum damage can be done!! We never operated based on states...

If only those politicians can understand impact of terrorism and how hard its to solve a case without a centralized organization, funny that they believe in CBI to solve cases like rape and murder but they dont  trust a centralized organization dealing with terrorism?

Thats funny enough, but hilarious thing is when they blame intelligence and central govt when we attack them, and the way they always oppose a strong anti-terrorist laws.

But i was kind of insulted by a CM's remark saying that law and order is a state issue, does he take us for rowdy sheeters or petty thieves and chain snatchers ? Terrorism is a national security issue, not law and order, dont know how he become a CM.

haha, one more joke by indian politicians, got to admit, they humor us a lot than our own politicians !

Game of Thrones

The first book in series of " song of ice and fire" by George R. R. Martin. And its not the first book i have after the book went to screen. Game of Thrones was turned into a TV show by HBO. And like most, the print edition is better than the screen one.

The fantasy novel is nothing like Harry Potter series as i have expected when started it. Though its a fantasy one with magical creatures with medieval background, its not for kids. It depicts a story line where anger of a mother, pride ,deception, loyalty and carelessness of a king lead to war.  How alliances are formed before war and how power politics works is too intriguing. Life of a bastard and how world treats a dwarf man are two topics i liked in it after politics.

Just many who read the book or watched the tv show, i become fan of Tyrion Lannister who is a dwarf with good survival instincts and understanding of human nature.  A good book, planning to read the second one in that series.

Though there are good movies in small budget projects, only the big ones get lot of profits. And take in the case of politics, people vote cricketers and movie stars only because they are famous, not because they believe they will make good policy makers, i pity indians.

 Thats true, its hard to understand nature of humans, by the time you think people like so and so things, they will take 'U' turn and prove you wrong, do you remember the days where shakeela movies suddenly swept the market and by the time the conclusion was made that we turned into perverts are something like that, everybody started ignoring those movies. We might think that ilayaraja and a.r rehman know the pulse of indians and not every song by them is a hit, similar thing can be observed in politics too.

Well, may be the real problem in understanding people is looking them as species.

we see ants we know that their behavior is to walk in line, we see a jungle cat and we know that being a carnivore is its property, just like that we are trying to grasp the behavioral pattern of human species, which turns out to be an impossible task. If everybody thinks in the same way, one religion or one philosophy would have convinced everyone to subscribe, if everybody likes the same food then there wont be these many cuisines, if everybody enjoys the same things, then single genre of music, art and literature, may we need to use the word  "individuals" instead of "people".

మతం Vs సంస్కృతి

మతం అనగా చాలా మందికి confusion లేదు, మతం అంటే అటు ఇటు గా  మనిషికి దేవుడికి మధ్యన ఉండే అమ్బికాదర్బార్ బత్తి అని అందరికి ఒక ఐడియా ఉంది. ఇక సంస్కృతి దగ్గర గొడవ వొస్తోంది.

 సంస్కృతి ని మనకి ఉండే కామన్ అలవాట్లు, ఆచారాలు, నమ్మకాలు, విలువలు, భాష , విధానాలు etc etc . గా చెప్పొచ్చు. మతాల ప్రపంచకీకరణ జరగక ముందు , ఒక మతం ఒక భూభాగానికే పరిమితమయిన కాలంలో సంస్కృతి మీద మతం అధికారం చాలా ఉండేది. అప్పట్లో ఒక వ్యక్తి ఒక పని చేసాడు అంటే మతం ఆదేశించడం వల్ల చేసాడా లేక అక్కడి సంస్కృతి వల్ల చేసాడా అని చెప్పడం కుదిరేది కాదనుకుంటా , of course ఇప్పటికి చెప్పడం కొంచం కష్టమే.

గమనిస్తే ఒకప్పటి తెలుగు పేర్లు అన్ని దేవుడి పేర్ల నుంచో , భారత రామాయణాల నుంచో  direct గా కాపీ కొట్టినవే, వెంకటేశ్వర్లు, వెంకటాచలపతి, అప్పన్న, సింహాచలం, భద్రాచలం, సరస్వతి , లక్ష్మి, హనుమంతు, హనుమాన్లు, రామయ్య, రాముడు, లక్ష్మయ్య , గణపతి ఇలా ఉండేవి, తర్వాత రావులు మొదలయ్యారు బాగా, సుబ్బారావు, అప్పారావు, నాగేశ్వర రావు ... ఇక్కడ పేర్లు direct గా కాపీ కొట్టడం కాస్త తగ్గి , కొంచం complicated అయ్యాయి, తర్వాత రాజేష్, విజయ్ ఇలాంటి పేర్లు మొదలయ్యాయి, ఇది సంస్కృతి ... వెంకటేశ్వర్లు అని ఉంటేనే హిందువు, రాజేష్ అని ఉంటె హిందువు కాదు అని చెప్పలేము.  పేర్లు పెట్టడమనేది సంస్కృతి లోకి వస్తుంది, మతం లోకి కాదు. మన దగ్గర తాత పేరు మనవడకి పెట్టడం సంస్కృతి, రాముడు తన కవల పిల్లలకి తండ్రుల పేర్లేమి పెట్టలేదు, అలా అని రాముడు హిందూ కాదు అని కాదు, తెలుగు వాళ్ళు మొత్తం హిందువులు కాదు అని కాదు, అలాగే మొత్తం భారత దేశం లో కేవలం తెలుగు వాళ్ళు మాత్రమె ఇంటి పేరు ముందు రాసుకుని , తర్వాత అసలు పేరు రాసుకుంటారు ( చివర్లో కులం పేరు వస్తుంది అది వేరే సంగతి) అలా అని తెలుగు వాళ్ళు హిందూ మతం ని follow అవ్వడం లేదు, అని కాదు కదా...అది మన సంస్కృతి అంతే.

అలాగే మనం వాడే దుస్తులు కూడా , సల్వార్ కమీజ్ తెలుగు వస్త్రధారణ లోకి రాదు , సికింద్రాబాద్ మెట్టు గూడా దగ్గర ఉన్న చర్చి ముందు రోడ్ మీద మేరీ మాత కి ఒక చిన్న గుడి లాంటిది కట్టారు, దాన్లో ఆవిడకి పట్టు చీర కడతారు , ఆంధ్రా లో ఉండే చాలా మంది ముస్లిం మహిళలు నల్లపూసలు వేసుకుంటారు,  పెళ్ళికి ముందు engagement లో ఉంగరాలు మార్చుకోడం, పెళ్లి తర్వాత reception , పెళ్ళికొడుకు పెళ్లి కూతుర్ల తమ్ములు శేర్వాని వేసుకోవాలన్న పద్దతి ఇవన్ని ఒక సంస్కృతి ఇంకోదాని దగ్గర నుంచి అరువు తెచ్చుకున్నవే. నిజానికి హిందూ సాంప్రదాయాలలో భాగమయిన పట్టు వస్త్రం చైనా నుంచి అరువు తెచ్చుకున్నదే .  ఇలా అని వీళ్ళందరూ వాళ్ల వాళ్ల మతాలని సరిగ్గా నమ్మడం లేదు అని కాదు కదా. సంస్కృతి , ఆచారాలు ,సాంప్రదాయాలు మారుతూ ఉంటాయి కాని మతం మారదు.

కాకపోతే చాలామంది దృష్టిలో మతం, సంస్కృతి ఒకటే. ఒక ముస్లిం అనగానే మీసం లేకుండా గడ్డం పెంచుకుని, తెల్లటి బట్టలు వేసుకుని, నెత్తి మీద skull cap తో ఉండే మగవాడో, లేక బురఖా వేసుకున్న ఆడదే గుర్తొస్తుంది. బ్రాహ్మణుడు అనగానే విభూతి, గుండు , పిలక, చొక్కలేకుండా ధోతి కట్టుకున్న వ్యక్తే గుర్తొస్తాడు.  ఒక క్రిస్టియన్ అనగానే ఆ వ్యక్తీ పేరు మేరి, జేమ్స్ , జాన్ ఇలా పాశ్చాత్య పేర్లు ఉంటాయని, వాళ్ళు బొట్టు పెట్టుకోరని అనుకుంటాము. బొట్టు పెట్టుకొని వారందర్నీ ఆ మతానికి చెందిన వారే అనుకుంటాము. కాని మన వేషభాషలు మన సంస్కృతి మీద depend అయ్యి ఉంటాయి కాని మతం మీద కాదు.

మతం కి సంస్కృతికి ఉన్న తేడా కి నాకు తెలిసిన ఒక వ్యక్తీ పరాకాష్ట. ఒక గట్టి హిందూ వాది , ముస్లిమ్స్ వల్ల భారతదేశానికి నష్టం జరుగుతోంది అని నాతో వాదిస్తూ " jesus christ sanju, why cant u understand my point" అన్నారు. 

సంస్కృతి మీద మతం అధికారం తగ్గుతూ వస్తోంది. ఇంకా తగ్గుతుంది అనే అనుకుంటున్నాను .

నా వేదన

చాలా మంది జీవితాలలో లాగే నా వేదన కూడా నవయవ్వన దశ లోనే మొదలయింది. సంవత్సరాల బాధ. ఏమి చేసినా పోదు, ఎల్లప్పుడూ బాధపెడుతూనే ఉంటుంది, కాలం అన్ని సంయలకి పరిష్కారం అంటారు కాని ....అది నిజం కాదు.

ఇన్ని సంవత్సరాలుగా నాతోనే ఉంది. ప్రతి క్షనమ్ నేను ఉన్నా అని గుర్తు తెస్తూనే ఉంటుంది. సరిగ్గా అలోచిన్చుకోలేను, అర్థ రాత్రి లేచి బాధ పడిన రోజులున్నాయి. అందరితోను చెప్పుకోలేను, అర్థం కాక పోవచ్చు కూడా. ఆప్తమిత్రులు అడిగే వారు , మాట దాటేసే వాడిని  మొదట్లో, కాని మన గురించి బాగా తెలిసిన స్నేహితులని , రోజు చూసే స్నేహితులని మోసం చెయ్యలేం, గుర్తుపట్టి అడిగే వారు , అంత ఏమి లేదులే అని చెప్పెసేవాడిని. అదో పెద్ద సమస్యే కాదు అన్నట్టు మాట్లాడేవాడిని.

చాలా  మందికి తప్పదనుకుంటా ఇది, కాని బయటకి కనిపియ్యకుండా ఎలా మేనేజ్ చేస్తున్నారో అనిపించేది. హడావిడిగా ఉన్నప్పుడు , పని ఒత్తిడి లో ఉన్నప్పుడు తాత్కాలికంగా బాధ తెలియకపోయినా , కాస్త విరామం దొరకగానే మళ్ళి తెలిసేది. తీవ్రత ఎక్కువయ్యేసరికి , నేను పెద్దగా తెలియని వాళ్ళకి కూడా విషయం అర్థం అవడం మొదలయ్యింది. చాలా మంది చాలా సలహాలు ఇచ్చారు, ఉపశమనం తాత్కాలికంగా లభించినా , పూర్తిగా పోలేదు. నెమ్మదిగా అలవాటు అవ్వసాగింది , ఇలా వదిలేస్తే జీవితాంతం బాధ పడుతూనే ఉంటా అని చివరికి మెడికల్ హెల్ప్ తీసుకుంటున్నాను.

మాకి కిరి కిరి ఈ చుండ్రు ఎప్పటికి వదులుతుందో ఏంటో .

Ignorance is not bliss ....its bullshit

Ignorance is for those people who do not want to handle reality and want to escape it. These are the people who prefer to be in darkness if they fear that they might see a lion in the room if the light comes in.  But unless there is light its impossible to know if our room mate is a lion or a rat.

Another form of the whole escaping reality thing is our incredible efforts to forget it. Alcohol or drugs is just one way to forget it. There are many similar ways. When i say forgetting reality, i meant the reality one is dealing with. The situations and problems of others are not ours, so we indulge in them to forget our own. Thus born  gossiping, watching soap operas. And there are always sports, games, hobbies, movies and books which make us forget our own reality for sometime.

What if i want to forget it for the whole life, then i will have to embrace religion. Almost every religion subscribes idea that this earthly life is limited and there is unlimited life in heaven or hell where we might enjoy or suffer. The religion makes me believe that my actions are predefines so that i dont have to deal with the guilt of my own deeds. And there is a god who will come to help when i need him, so i dont have to worry about the problems in real life. And it also provides the side-track to forget what's happening around by asking me to perform rituals without which i will go to hell, which is always depicted scarier than earthly real life. If i perform those rituals i will go to heaven which is filled with manifestations of idea of comfort, soothing and happiness. In a nutshell instead of worrying about surroundings i am asked to runaway from hell and reach heaven.  No wonder Marx thought religion is opium of masses.

I hate to admit but, life of a theist seems to be cool.

సిటి లో సంక్రాంతి ...

 కోళ్ళ పందాలు , ధాన్యం ఇంటికి రావడం కథల్లోను మూవీస్ లోను ఏవో చూపిస్తారు  . సిటి లో పెరిగితే సంక్రాంతి డిఫరెంట్ గా అనిపిస్తుంది.

అసలు సంక్రాంతి అనగా ...

1. పతంగులు , రకరకాల ఆకారాల్లో దొరుకుతాయి, ఎగురుతాయా లేవా అన్నది వేరే సంగతి. న్యూస్ పేపర్ తో వాటిని తయారు చెయ్యడం , మాన్జాలు కొనడం , లేకపోతే దారాలకి అన్నం, గుడ్డు, ఏవో నూనెలు రాయడం.  పతన్గికి సరిగ్గా కన్నాలు పెట్టి దారం కట్టడం , వాటికి తోకలు పెట్టడం, పోటీలు పెట్టుకోడం, తెగిపోయిన పతంగి వెనుక పోలో మని పరిగెట్టడం , గాలి ఎటు ఉందా అని చూసుకోడం, పతంగి ఎగారేయ్యడానికి, దారం చరక కి చుట్టడానికి ఒక assistant ,  ఇంకోడి పతంగి తెగ్గొట్టి "కాటే " అని గొంతు చించుకుని అరవడం, మన పతంగి తెగ్గోట్టినవాడితో గొడవలు పాడటం, కక్ష సాధించడానికి వాడు ఎగరేసిన పతంగి మీద concentrate చెయ్యడం,  మా బిల్డింగ్ మీద పడింది కాబట్టి మాదే అన్న వాడితో ఇంకో గొడవ ..... పెద్ద తతంగం ఇది..బేసికల్ గా బద్ధకం ఉంది కాబట్టి నేను వీటికి దూరంగా ఉండే వాడిని.

2. చిన్నప్పుడు భోగి మంట పెట్టె వాడిని, ఇప్పుడు GHMC వాళ్ళు రెగ్యులర్ గా చెత్త తీసుకెళ్లడం వల్ల కాల్చడానికి చెత్త లేక బద్ధకం వయసుతో పాటు ఇంకొంచం పెరగడం వల్ల మానేసాను

3. పొద్దునే తలపాగా పెట్టుకుని పీ పీ పీ పీ అని ఊదుతూ, ఒక దూడ వీపు మీద పట్టు చీర కప్పి, దాన్ని తోలుకుంటూ ఒకడు వచ్చేవాడు. డబ్బులిస్తే కాని ఆ వూదడం ఆపడు అని వెంటనే డబ్బులు ఇచ్చి పొమ్మనే వాడిని. మా తాతయ్య డబ్బులిచ్చి ఇంకాసేపు వూదమనే వారు. అక్కడ గొడవ వచ్చేది నాకు ఆయనకీ.

4. అసలే మా కాలనీ రోడ్లు చెండాలంగా ఉంటాయి అని ఏడుస్తూ ఉంటె , సరిగ్గా ఉన్న కాస్త రోడ్డు మీద ముగ్గులేసేసి, ఆ వేసిన ముగ్గుని కాపాడటానికి చుట్టూ ఇటుక రాళ్ళు , కంకర రాళ్ళు పెడ్తున్నారు , ఇదో బాధ.

5. ఇక టీవీ లో , సంక్రాంతి గొప్పదనం, అసలు మకరం అంటే ఏంటి, హరిదాసు, ఇప్పటి వాళ్ళకి ఇవేవి పట్టవు అని ఒకటే గోల.

6. ముగ్గు బొమ్మలు ఉండే SMS లు వస్తాయి. ఒకమ్మాయి ముగ్గు వేస్తూ ఉండే image file తో మెయిల్స్ వస్తాయి. వచ్చిన వాటిని ఇంకోళ్ళకి forward చెయ్యడం.

సంక్రాంతి వ్యవసాయదారుల పండుగ , పంట చేతికొచ్చింది అని వాళ్ల ఆనందం. వారం రోజులు సెలవులు వచ్చాయి అని పిల్లలకి ఆనందం. ఒక హాలిడే వచ్చింది అని మనకి ఆనందం.

Frankenstein is not a Monster.

The work of Mary Shelly become a curse to the word 'Frankenstein' . In the modern literature it is associated with person who kills or torments his master.

For me, the theme of  the book is not science fiction or about lack of gratitude of a being towards its creator. The real theme is loneliness and being rejected everywhere. Sounds boring but, a person who knows the actual difference between loneliness and solitude might enjoy this book.

The story which is explained using series nested letters from one another, gives us the glimpse of a scientist who is ambitious to defy god and later realized that nature has its way and humans should not mess with it. And it gives us the complete discourse of an animal which is better than human and wants to be a "social animal" like humans. When its master denied its request to create more creatures like it to socialize, it decided to show the taste of  loneliness and not-being-loved. It starts killing each of his friends and family members in a fatal attempt to make him empathize its state. To save his loved ones from the it, the scientist chases it and both end up in north pole.

A sailor, whose ship was trapped in the ice of north pole, finds the scientist in a dying state, listens to his story and  amazed by the creatures willingness to end its life on the funeral pyre of its master.

The dialogue "You are my creator, but I am your master. Obey!" of the creature lead to modern usage of the word Frankenstein. 

Pair of eyes not enough

I think I need some more eyes. . Apart from regular eyes , I need one to give electric shocks when I opened it, I should have one on back of my head to check who is behind me (My bike does not have rear-view mirrors) , one on top of my head to check if any pigeons flying over my head at punjagutta and nalgonda X roads and shitting, one infrared eye for driving. One spiritual eye, at least 3 eyes to read three different books simultaneously, one dedicated eye for news channels and one for entertainment channels. And each eye should have a hook above it so that books and tv's could be attached to it.

Anyway whats the point of having just a pair of eyes? So that ears, legs and kidneys wont feel inferior numerically?

The problem with having just one pair of eyes and a very creative mind is, we tend to believe what ever we saw i.e. what ever our eyes could see. And this limitation created lot of illusions, like, we see sun rising in the east and setting in the west and mankind believed that sun is roaming around the Earth. The same limitation made us believe that earth is flat.

This phenomenon is not just confined to physical world, its affects are visible in understanding society too. A foreigner sees India through National Geographic and Discovery channels and believes that india is filled with monkeys, elephants and snake charmers. A guy from metropolitan city who watches eyes full of NDTV Good Times forgets the existence of villages and thinks everybody in india is filthy rich. A middle class person living in a village thinks he is lot better than the rest and when he comes to city will start thinking that everyone is trying to loot him. We see few American or Japanese documentaries and pass derogatory remarks on Indian work culture. We admire growth rate of China because we cant see the lack of fundamental rights there. We judge a person based on looks. The moment we see that the persons skin color/ body build/ nose is different than our own, we develop dislike towards them. We mostly go by looks while choosing a life partner because we equate beauty with lot of qualities . We read one book in philosophy and prefers to stick to it for rest of the life. We go to a village for one day and believe that villages are filled with dirt and innocence. We read Eenadu and believe that YS Jagan is stupid, we read Sakshi and believe that, except YS Jagan, rest of the world is bad.

In a way, we always feed our brain with incomplete version of reality, so , cant blame brain for drawing inappropriate conclusions. Either the world should not be this complex or we should be more dumb to match limitations of our eyes. If there is a God who created us all, he is cruel.

Manmohan Singh's Golden Year

This was definitely golden year for India. There was Gold in Satya Sai private chamber, there is at ananta padmanabha swami temple, in fact the metal itself felt very proud and made its price very high.  

If the era of Chandragupta-2 is called golden era, this year could be called Manmohan Singhs Golden year.

Of course he faced many political hiccups, one side team anna and another side Judiciary, kind of played foot ball with him. He had to face the heat of public due to petrol price and RBI Subbarao still fighting with inflation. Mamatha benarjee joined lately in the club. And there is FDI mess.

For an ordinary man, the issues PM faced this year would have blown his head, but our PM's head is still intact, or may be his head is already blasted and the turban is holding the pieces together.

Owaisi Vs Jagan

Both came from political families, both took support of their fathers, both are semi-gods in their constituencies  and both are controversial personalities. But who is a better MP? Jagan or Owaisi?

Owaisi, in this 15th loksabha, raised 592 questions so far, introduced one private bill and participated in 19 debates with 68% attendance.

And Jagan Reddy has 59% attendance in Loksabha, but never opened his mouth to ask a question or to participate in a debate.

Well, we elected all those MPs to the parliament so that, they can discuss and make policies. What's the point of  getting elected if our representatives dont talk in parliament. For a MP, his primary job is to take part in legislature, not having control of MPLAD scheme and extra security.
