Chai, chai by Biswanath Ghosh

Never read a travelogue like this one. Not one famous place was covered , except for Khajuraho. And I liked it.

Author followed a theme, I.e to visit , railway stations and corresponding places which are important railway junctions but not famous for tourism.  The book made me understand, how few places were developed just because of railway stations.

I enjoyed reading his struggle to get a decent room, his craving for a small chat with locals over a drink to know the stories and the simplicity of his travels.

The book will be loved by anyone, who is a traveler, and there is a huge difference between a traveler and a tourist.

Where ever he went, he drank alcohol. Some times he even mentioned the liquor-menu. Title justification would be done if they rename it to  " whisky, whisky ". But the author more than justified the tag line , " Travels in places where you stop but never get off".

Over all, an interesting read.
