చాలా మందికి ఒక ఫీలింగ్ ఉంటుంది, అది ఏంటంటే …సొంత ఇల్లు స్వర్గ సీమ లాంటిది అని…మరి స్వర్గం కి పైన ఏమి ఉండదు కదా…కాబట్టి…వీళ్ళంతా independent ఇల్లు అనేది apartment కన్నా చాలా బెటర్ అని అనుకుంటూ ఉంటారు, వీళ్ళు చెప్పే లాజిక్ ఏంటంటే…apartments అగ్గిపెట్టెల్లా ఉంటాయని….అక్కడ భూమి మనది కాదు , ఆకాశం మనది కాదు అని, మొక్కలు చెట్లు పెంచుకోడానికి కుదరదు అని…..ఇలా భూమి ఆకాశం ఫిలోసోఫి ని పట్టుకుని…వీళ్ళంతా city outskirts లో ఒక పెద్ద స్థలం చూసి, అక్కడ ఒక ఇల్లు కట్టుకుని …..నేను భూమి మీద నా స్వర్గసీమ ని నిర్మించుకున్నాను అని మురిసిపోయి….ఆ ఇంటికి ఒక పేరు పెట్టి …ఆ పేరుని ఇంటిముందు పెట్టించి ….తెగ ఆనంద పడుతూ ఉంటారు …కాని వాళ్ళకి తెలియదు “in front there is crocodiles festival” అని ….
1. స్థలం చవకగా వస్తుంది అని ….సిటీ మూలకి ఇల్లు కట్టడం వల్ల , రోజు ఆఫీసు కి వెళ్లి రావడానికి ఎక్కువ తిరగాల్సిన పరిస్థితి .
2. ఎక్కువ పెట్రోల్ ఖర్చు
3. పనిమనుష్యులు, ఇస్త్రీ చేసే వాళ్ళు దొరకడం కష్టం

11. సినిమా హల్ల్స్ బాగా దూరంగా ఉంటాయి…..దగ్గరగా ఉన్న వాటిల్లో ఎలుకలు తిరుగుతూ ఉంటాయి (ఇప్పుడు మా దగ్గర కూడా మంచి హాల్స్ వచ్చయిలెండి )
12. ఇంటి దగ్గర మంచి స్చూల్స్ ఏమి ఉండవు, ఎండాకాలం లో ఏదన్నా musical instrument లాంటివి నేర్చుకున్డమంటే , ఎవరు ఉండరు దగ్గర్లో నేర్పేవాళ్ళు, అదే సిటీ లో ఉంటె ఈజీ గా ఉంటుంది …
13. ఇలా సొంత ఇల్లు కట్టగానే….మొక్కలు , చెట్లు పెట్టాలి అనే వింత కోరిక అందరికి మొదలు అవుతుంది ,….ఆ మొక్కలతో తో పాటు పెరట్లో గొంగళి పురుగులు, వేరు పురుగులు , చెట్టు మీద కాకి గూట్లో కాకి పిల్లలు పెరుగుతూ వాటి వాటి పద్దతులలో మనల్ని పలకరించి పోతూ ఉంటాయి…
14. రాత్రి ఇంటికి లేట్ గా వస్తే ….ఊర కుక్కలు ఒక లుక్ ఇస్తూ ఉంటాయి,
15. Friends తో డిన్నర్ కి అని బయటకి వెళ్తే…తొందరగా ఇంటికి బయలు దేరాలి….మళ్ళి అంత దూరం వెళ్ళాలి కదా
16. “అంత దూరం నుంచి వస్తావా ?” అన్న expression ప్రజలు ఇస్తూ ఉంటె భరించాలి
ఇంకా బోలెడు ఉంటాయి లెండి…ఇంటి దగ్గర సరయిన హాస్పిటల్స్ ఉండవు….ఇప్పుడు బెటర్ కానీ…ఒకప్పుడు అపోలో ఫార్మసీ కూడా దూరంగా ఉండేది బాగా…కాబట్టి…చక్కగా అపార్ట్మెంట్ జీవితం ప్రశాంతంగా ఉంటుంది అని నా నమ్మకం

అన్ని ఉద్యమాలలో జరిగినట్టే, తెలంగాణా ఉద్యమం లో కూడా కాస్త అతి అనేది జరుగుతూ ఉంది ….నేను ప్రత్యెక తెలంగాణా ని ఆమోదిస్తున్నాను and సమర్దిస్తున్నాను ( నా orkut or facebook profile చదివిన వాళ్ళందరికి ఆ సంగతి తెలుసు) కాని, అతి ప్రవర్తన అనేది ఎప్పుడు చిరగ్గానే ఉంటుంది …

September 17 తెలంగాణా విమోచన దినోత్సవం కి కొద్ది రోజులు ముందుగ campus లో పోస్టర్స్ అంటించారు “తెలంగాణా విమోచనమా? విద్రోహమా? “ అని, ఆ పోస్టర్ రాసిన రచయిత ప్రకారం, అసలు నిజాం పాలన నుంచి తెలంగాణా india లో కలవడమే ఒక పెద్ద తప్పిదంట , india లో కలవగానే తెలంగాణా ప్రజలందరూ “గొర్రెలు పోయే, బర్రెలు వచ్చే” అనుకున్నారట …india లో కలిసిన్దగ్గర నుంచే తెలంగాణా కస్టాలు మొదలయ్యయిత….అంటే నిజం పాలనలో, ఆ దొరతనం లోనే ప్రజలు సుఖంగా ఉన్నరనా ? ప్రత్యెక తెలంగాణా ఉద్యమం అంటే తెలంగాణా ఒక ప్రత్యెక రాష్ట్రము కోసం ఉద్యమం అనుకున్నాడ లేక తెలంగాణా ఒక ప్రత్యెక దేశం అనుకున్నాడా ? రచయిత నిజాం వంశానికి చెందినా వాదాన్న అయి ఉండాలి, లేదా తెలంగాణా లో దొరతనం కోల్పోయిన కుటుంబానికి చెందినా వాడు అయి ఉండాలి అని నా వూహ …

అసలు ప్రత్యక తెలంగాణా ఉద్యమం అంటే భారతదేశం లోంచి విడిపోవడం అన్న feeling ఆంధ్ర వాళ్ళు తీసుకువచ్చారు ….తెలంగాణా ఉద్యమం మొదలవ్వగానే, ఉద్యమానికి వ్యతిరేకంగా సమైక్య ఆంధ్ర కోసం అని “devided we fall, jai india” అంటూ నినాదాలు ఇచ్చారు అసలు నినాదం లో india ఎందుకు వచ్చింది ? , తెలంగాణా ఉద్యమం కాశ్మీర్ ఉద్యమం లాంటిది కాదు, confustion లో ఉన్నవాల్లకోసం మరోసారి  “మాకు తెలంగాణా రాష్ట్రము కావాలి, తెలంగాణా దేశం కాదు”

తెలంగాణా ఉద్యమాన్ని వ్యతిరేకిస్తూ అప్పట్లో ఆంధ్ర నాయకులూ కొంతమంది ఒక పిచ్చి argument తీసారు , ప్రత్యెక తెలంగాణా వస్తే, మళ్ళి నిజాం పాలన తీసుకువస్తారా అని? ఇది ఒక చెత్త argument అని చెప్పడానికి explanation కూడా అవసరం లేదు కదా

ఇక ఆత్మహత్యల పర్వం సాగింది , యువకులకి ఏమొచ్చిందో తెలియదు కాని, ఉద్యమం కోసం బలిదానం పేరుతో ఆత్మహత్యలు చేసుకోడం మొదలు పెట్టారు, ఆత్మహత్యలు చేసుకున్నవారిని తెలంగాణా వీరులుగా చిత్రీకరించడం జరిగింది, ఒక విద్యార్థి దేవతకి మొక్కుగా ఆత్మహత్య చేసుకోడం దుమారం లేపింది, అప్పటికి నాయకులూ , JAC కళ్ళు తెరిచారు, తెలంగాణా ఉద్యమం లోనే అందరు చనిపోతే తెలంగాణా రాష్ట్రము లో ఎవరు ఉంటారు అని ? మొత్తానికి ఆత్మహత్యలు ఆగాయి , లేకపోతే ప్రత్యెక తెలంగాణా రాష్ట్రము లో ఉద్యోగం చేయడానికి యువత ఉండేది కాదు, మళ్ళి పక్క రాష్ట్రము నుంచి ఆంధ్ర వాలు ఉద్యోగం కోసం వచ్చి ఉండే వాళ్ళు !!!

ఉద్యమం అనేది అదుపు తప్పి హింసాత్మక సంఘటనలు జరగడం అనేది ప్రతి ఉద్యమం లో గమనిస్తూ ఉన్నదే ….అలానే తెలంగాణా ఉద్యమం లో తెలంగాణా రావాలి అని ఇక్కడ బస్సులు తగలబెట్టడం జరిగింది, పోటి పది ఆంధ్రా ప్రజలు అక్కడ కూడా బస్సులు తగలబెట్టి బంద్ పాటించారు, ఇక్కడ బస్సులు తగలబెట్టడం లో అర్థం ఉంది …..అక్కడ ఎందుకు తగలబెట్టారు , ఏమి వస్తుందని తగలబెట్టారు అనేది గమనించాల్సిన విషయం .

latest అతి ప్రవర్తన O.U లో పొట్టి శ్రీరాములు బొమ్మని తగలపెట్టడం , అసలు తెలంగాణా ఆంధ్రా లో కలిసినపుడు అయన బ్రతికి కూడా లేడు, మద్రాస్ presidency నుంచి ఆంధ్రా విదిపోవాలనేది అయన ఉద్యమ లక్ష్యం ….తెలంగాణా కి ఏదో చెడు చెయ్యడం కాదు , తెలుగు వాళ్ళందరూ ఒక్క రాష్ట్రంగా ఉండాలి అనేది, అప్పటి ఇరువైపులా నాయకులూ అంగీకరించిందే…..కాని కలిసి ఉండటం కన్నా విదిపోతేనే అభివృద్ధి ఉంటుంది అనే నమ్మకం తో మొదలయింది తెలంగాణా ఉద్యమం , ఈ ఉద్యమం లో అయన విగ్రహాలు తగలబెట్టడం అనవసరం , పెట్రోల్ దండగ .

Earthquakes in our area!!

On the friday night people in our area heard some unknown sounds and there was a rumour about earthquakes.  Well, I didnt hear anything, and i came to know about those on  the later day in the news channel and our relatives called us to enquire our safety. That day there was a commotion near temple with TV channels vans and few police. When enquired, an old man told us that tv channels were there to cover the earthquake story. Our area is a nice and calm place which usually wont attract media attention. Lot of cameramen were there so people surrounded them, and kids were waving at the camera. With all this hungama geological department installed equipment in our area to check if its really the earthquakes which caused the anonymous sounds. This is the story of Saturday.

On sunday night i went out to market by walk, the moon light is great , the weather is cool, so i walked a lot and by the time i reach home my relatives scared my mom about the earthquakes and made her stand outside for sometime. They have got the news that there are few more earthquakes in our area and tv channels broadcasting that people are panicked and running on the streets. I switched on the TV to watch a commotion of people and few kids  waving at the camera in broad day light. That was the video coverage from the saturday. At the time, they were broadcasting that coverage, people were eating mirchi from the nearby sweetshop at the exact same location. . A geologist requesting people to calm down on tv. These tv channels are showing cracks in the paint of a wall (which is common in every old building). The whole program was giving an impression that there was a earthquake of at least 4.5 Richter  scale reading. The commotion of people and the cracks on the wall is giving the visual support to that. And all the mobile phones and landline in my home are ringing like in a call centre getting calls from my relatives and friends. And the geological equipment have not found anything yet. And this news only covered in local news channels especially TV5 and none of the national news channels covered it. I am at home, safe and sound , writing blog.

 

 

Do we really need it?

Today NAC ( National Advisory Council) recommended to provide subsidized rice and wheat to 80cr Indians. Its only 27% of indians who are living below poverty line (BPL). 80cr out of 113 cr (population of india) is around 72.7%. So 45% of indians who are not BPL will be befitted with this program. If he is not poor, if he is not in poverty why should he get the benefits which are targeted for the poor?

Of course these 45% are poor when compared to Anil ambani, but they are not too poor to buy their own food. Most of these 45% belongs to middle class and are like you and me. Have a computer a browse net, who download movies to watch, who might not have a benz car but have a motor vehicle for transport, who watch cricket and reality shows in TV, who are able to spend money on boozing and cigarettes, who dont prefer to travel in general compartment, who buys and reads novels, who goto theaters regularly, who buys DVDs.  NAC recommended to provide 35kg of rice for Rs. 3/- . I am not sure if these 45% going to stand in the queue at rashionshop and buy that rice.  To provide this subsidized food grain, its going to cost the govt 15,000 cr .. and this 15000cr is only for the first stage.

Why cant govt offer this subsidy to all the white-rashion-card people, after all the fake rashion cards are found out. The money spend giving subsidy for 45% can utilized for other purpose like building schools or providing equipment for the hospitals. Why provide subsidy for the people who dont need it. These 45% will buy a DVD or go and buy few more beers with the saved money because of subsidy (assuming he is ready to eat that cheap quality rice which will be distributed).

Lucky that its a man's world.

Few days back i was talking to my new acquittance who is a doctor. Somehow our aimless talk landed on pregnancy issues. And he started explaining what is to be in a labor room and delivering a baby. The whole process is so complicated, so delicate, so dangerous and its kind of horrible (probably not the right word to use but it is ). For the first time i felt lucky to be born as a boy. If i were a girl, i dont know what i would do. Interestingly many girls are ready to get married and give birth to a child 'to prove their womanhood'. Gynecology department is full of ladies, even they get married and give birth to kids.

I think being a girl is less advantageous than being a boy. I was not talking about periods or pregnancy (i am sure they are horrible), i was talking about social issues. I dont have to be conscious about where the person who is talking to me watching. I dont have to be feared to go to unknown places with bunch of guyz boozing in there. My parents wont be terrified if i come late night so one more thing not to bother about. I dont have to tackle the stupid flirting from my lecturers and managers. No eve-teasing. No restrictions on the way i dress. Nobody bothers if i get late night calls. I can drive without fear at mid night. i can give my mobile number to anyone without fearing the boring conversations i have to make later. I dont have to apply make-up. I dont have to face questions about my marriage from my late teenage. I dont have to cover my mouth when i laugh. I can actually laugh out loud. I wont get the weird looks if i dont gossip about others or if i talk normally without baby-talk.. I dont have to say ' i like old hindi songs'. I will be received as a normal person even if i am not a fan of sydney sheldon. Basically its a Man's world, and i am lucky that i am a man.

The above equation is from 3rd most powerful person in china. He thinks that by allowing 400m netizens from china to express their views is freedom of speech to the nation. Freedom of speech is not just the right to talk. Its the right which allows people to express their views, their grief, their ideologies which might inspire others, which is the first step to create a social change in a system.

Just right to speech is not sufficient to create a social change. To propagate the ideology, one might have to travel the nation (Right to freely move within the borders of the nation), might take the help of media when the ideologies are critical of govt policies ( Uncensored media and news papers ) and one might have to gather people to take up a task (Right to form associations). And first of all the person who wants to create change must live and the nation must have a mechanism where govt cant arrest him without any reason ( Right to live ). Even if the govt tried to curb the change , the nation must have an institution which can direct the govt to do a thing and which gives justice to people and that institution must be out of influence of govt ( Rule of law, independent judiciary ).

A nation have to have all these rights so that the govt cant suppress a movement which is against govt. And these are called fundamental rights. Without which the citizens of nation cant create a change.

The whole idea of fundamental rights is originated from the belief that people could be wrong. And govt is not a machine with nuts and bolts, its a bunch of people who has authority to run the country. What if those bunch of people go wrong? The citizens should have the opportunity to criticize the govt. Probably the govt understands the point of citizens and mend it ways. This might work on few policies.What if majority of govt policies are not liked by the people. Then we need to have a mechanism to change the govt. In the old days this is accomplished with a revolution or a coup which is bloodshed. The french revolution , the american revolution, our struggle for independence can be quoted as examples.

Here comes the the concept of democracy to save us. Dont chant the old text book definition of govt by the ppl, for the ppl ...etc etc . I see democracy as the political system which allows the citizens to change the govt when they are not satisfied with the performance of present govt. We are fed up congress govt so we choosed BJP, it didnt perform well so we went back to congress again, it performed well and indians thought nuclear bill is not a bad thing so we choose  congress again. And all these changes were made without spilling blood.

All these concepts which let the citizens to keep the govt on toes are not present in china. Of course i agree their growth rate is more than us. Men will be more productive when a hunter visits them on their back , that does not mean we should follow the political structure of china. After all we are humans with feelings, not just workers.

కేశవ రెడ్డి రచన ఇది. చిన్న పుస్తకం , మహా అయితే ఒక రెండు గంటలలో అయిపోతుంది . కాని కాస్త refreshing గా అనిపించింది . తను పెంచుకునే సుక్కల పంది మీద ఒక పేద ముసలివాడి ప్రేమ, అడవిలో ఆ పంది పిల్లల్ని పెట్టడం ...వాటిని చూసి ముసలివాడు చంద్రుని తో "నువ్వు మబ్బుల్లో ఉంటె ఎంత? పోతే ఎంత? నీకు లాంటి లాంటి వాళ్ళు ఇక్కడ మరో పది మంది ఉన్నారు " అని అరవడం .....కాస్త విచిత్రంగా అనిపించినా ....ముసలివాడి ఆనందాన్ని బాగా express చేయగలిగాడు ....అడవిలోని జంతువల మనస్తత్వాల గురించి .....అడివి లో గొడ్లు కాచుకునే వాళ్ళ అనుభవాల గురించి ...తనకున్న చిన్న ఆస్తి మీద ముసలివాదికున్న మమకారం ...ఖర్మ ని తిట్టుకుంటూ కూర్చోకుండా ఫలితం గురించి మరో మార్గం లో ప్రయత్నించడం ....తనకు దేని మీద ఎక్కువ ప్రేమ ఉందొ తెలుసుకుంటూ ఉండటం ...తద్వారా తనని తాను తెలుసుకుంటూ ముందుకు వెళ్లడం ...చివరకు ఏమి మిగాలకపోయినా నిరాశ పడకుండా రేపు మీద ఆశతో ఆదమరచి నిదరపోవడం .....బాగా రాసాడు !!

Blame Gandhi

Yes, we need to blame our Father of nation for the false image he created about Indians. Everybody in the world thinks that India got independence through non-violence so we are peace loving people. Are we really peace loving people?? I dont think so.

 Our idea of a hero is a fighter not a pacifist. In modern india bhagat singh is more patriot than Gandhi, Nehru or patel because he used bombs and died later. Lala lajapat rai also died for the nation.  He was beaten to death in a lathi charge. But he didnt become a hero of modern india. He never used bombs or bullets, he fought in gandhian way. And he could not muster the fame like Azad or Bhagat singh.

We love fights. We love fights in movies and we need variety of fights. The villain has to die in the climax. We enjoy violence in the movies. Not only in movies, we love fighting in the streets. We love fighting based on our caste, religion and language. We fight police. We fight for water (at municipality pump and at dams), we fight for movie tickets, we fight for a seat (Travel in general compartment in any train). We fight for reservations. We fight to get a separate state. Even we enjoy when people get into a fight in reality shows. All most all Hindu gods carry weapons. Our great epics Ramayanam and Mahabharatam ends with epic fights. If you read medieval history of India, its full of wars and blood. The underline point is we love fighting.

But how could one man managed to convince this blood-thirsty-nation for a non-violent movement. He not only fought Imperialism but also caste system of indian society with the same non-violence. How did he do it is an interesting question. Anyway he has to take the blame for putting 'non-violent nation' tag  to our country.

comparing religion and communism

We all know that communism and religion dont go together but both have few similarities between them.

Both communists and theists shut them selves from the out side world. Both think they are the elite of the society and feel the burden of saving the society from disaster and promise harmony.

Both maintain the same strategy “either you are my friend or you are my foe” . No one can be neutral. They theists of a particular religion, atheists, agnostics and people who follow other religions are enemies. For communists who ever does not preach communism are capitalists, for them these are the only two political structures. A person should be a communist or a capitalist there is no alternative.

Both of them feel that the who ever does not subscribe to their philosophy are the problem makers. In the case of religion it says the harmony is disturbed due to other religions or evil which does not follow religion. In case of communists they believe that all problems of the world including pollution is due to persons who are not communists.

If we got a problem both will give us similar answer without giving any details. The standard answer from theists is “God will take care of it” and communists will say “System will take care of it”

Both will become mum if we talk about crude facts which are against them. Theists make faces when you explain miracle of god with a simple physics rule and communists dont like to be questioned on the collapse of USSR.

Both try to ignore modern developments. Theists wont talk about recent scientific developments and communists hate to talk about political developments.

Both wont prefer to be questioned. So both deny the right to express.

If we start practicing any of the two, according to both we dont have to blame our selves for our misery. According to both of them, our present state of life is not because of our deeds. According to religion if you are suffering, its because you did many wrong things in the previous life. According to communism, you are suffering because of capitalists.

According to both of them, we have to go through initial suffering to get the ultimate happiness. Religions asks us to fast, walk on the fire etc etc to get nirvana. And communism ask us to go through dictatorship to attain communism. Interestingly both wont reveal how long we need to go through the suffering to get the ultimate happiness.

Both of them advocate distruction of family. When religion says family is a constraint to get nirvana and sex is a sin. According to communist manifesto family is a capitalistic concept so must be abolished.

Both extreme theists and extreme communists wont like to live in the society. The extremists of religion prefer to sit in the shrine or in himalayas. And extremists of communists would like to sit in library or in the jungle. Irritatingly both of them talk about how the society should be.

Orkut hit by Bom Sabado worm!

It creates a major mess on user profiles as it scraps the text 'Bom Sabado' on profile pages.

You visit an infected profile page, you are likely to get affected as well.

Google has not yet made any official statement on this issue but we expect them to be working very hard on it.

Avoid using Orkut for now. And if you have been hit, change your Google Account password asap!

Its not only for timepass !

At first I thought its only for watching video and can be used to upload home-made videos. But youtube is more than that.As it provides the space to upload videos whatever people want to upload, netizens actually shown their creativity in uploading videos.

If you miss a serial, by next day it will be uploaded in youtube by someone. (My aunt watches her serials in youtube when she misses them on tv)

If you dont know how to do a thing, search it in youtube , like 'how to straighten your hair' , how to wax polish the shoe, knot a tie etc etc

Whenever a product is released in market like mobile their 'out of box' videos will be uploaded in it and the same guy gives a review about it. I used it when i could not open the back cover of my mobile, i learned it from youtube :)

And there are many videos (in fact audio files with album art) teaches you how to learn a new language. Tamil, malayalam, spanish ...almost every widely spoken language could learned from it. I started malayalam and Portuguese.

And there are many videos on solving computer issues ..these are few uses of youtube i found. Still digging it for more things :)

Mosquitoes and Tigers

Lets consider a scenario where all the mosquitoes in the world are dead. They become extinct. Is it going to bother us? The extinction of mosquitoes going to hurt us? or our sentiments? are we going start a campaign saying "save mosquitoes" ?? No , in fact we would be happy when they go extinct. Because the death-toll of malaria will be zero at that time. We dont eat mosquitoes, so its not going to affect food-chain, and if they are extinct we dont have to waste our money on buying mosquito killers.

And now i wonder , how the extinction of mosquitoes isa different scenario than extinction of tigers in India. We dont eat them, no part of India is economically dependent on them like rajasthanis use camels for their daily life. We dont use tiger in that sense....except few gods in Indian mythology nobody used tigers for transportation. No body part of tiger could be used in medicine, like the poison of snakes is used. Tigers are not amicable , they are not docile. Nobody can afford to have one as a pet. They dont help to build a healthy environment like a bunch of trees do.

In-fact tigers are mean man-eaters, who kill villagers nearby the forest. Why a bunch of animal lovers from the cities who never live in forest shout to save them? Villagers are the ones who live nearby them, go and ask a person from a tiger-hit village, if he wants to save them or not, probably he will say 'kill them all with a bomb'.

But the people of city dont want it happen, they love to watch about them in national geographic channel, they love to watch them in a tiger safari ....once in 10yrs. They want to show to the world that they care about indian tigers, but they wont go near a tiger nor they live in a village next to a tiger reserve. They love to wear those save-tiger t-shirts. They are more or less equal to bunch of youth from banjarahills protesting the killing of street-dogs in slums.

Imagine the costs to maintain 27 national tiger reserve parks, and for their census, what is the use? Why dont we care about people instead of animals.

oooh, dont tell me that we have to give more importance to national animal instead of people of the nation. Till 1973 our national animal is lion, then they changed it to tiger, we can always change it to something else.

Why dont we give more importance to the fact that , the villages have bad roads, no hospital equipment, schools without proper rooms and black boards, no proper education for them and they still believe in black magic stuff , the girls are malnutritioned and Police stations are ill equipped.If govt takes proper care of these issues, the villagers will have faith in govt and probably stop helping Maoists who tries to throw out Indian state.

Why put animals before people, its not humanism. We are humans, and lets take care of fellow humans first. Tigers become extinct ....so what? Probably genetic technology advances and we can breed them artificially like they have showed in the movie Babylon A.D, are the tigers in zoos are not sufficient to go and watch? Do we have to maintain a tiger reserve and go there to watch them?

Is it helping?

I woke up early in the morning and started watching CNN-IBN, they have got a special survey kind of thing....which is really irritating.

The result of the survey is that people in metros are not willing rent their houses to muslims. We dont know how far it is true!! And this survey is coming just few days before ayodhya verdict (RSS already kind of threatened muslims to support ayodhya, and everybody is tense about the aftermath of ayodhya verdict) and SIT ( special investigating team ) is still working on godhra riots, Ramzan is just over and ganesh festival is still going on , so both hindus and muslims are kind of immersed in the religious rituals, do we have to get that survey now?? Which is bound to disturb whatever friendly feeling that exists between hindus and muslims. I hope TV channels show some common sense when dealing with such things.

Common sense Vs Economics

There was a classic fight between common sense and economics when SC released its verdict on about-to-rot-food-grains. Its not foolish to think that when lakhs of tons of food about to rot , why not distribute it for free to the poor. Why waste food like that in the warehouse.  This was the logic of SC and NGO'S.

But Government has to think it in economic point of view also (After all our PM is an economist ). And their explanation goes like this " If govt distributes free food grains, demand for food grains goes down and then the price of food grains will drop, that will affect the farmers who producing now". I think its right. Because food grains wont go for suicide when are rotten. but farmers do when they go bankrupt. So the primary concern should be farmers.

But this whole issue raised the clash between legislature and judiciary.

And.my answer would be ........'none'

Cabinet approved for the cast based senses next year. Worst part is both congress and BJP are happy about it. So no opposition for this one.

Well, the results of the census would be interesting. Now we can actually fight among over selves and feel conceit about caste based on population too. That's going to make the dream of caste -less society a daydream for some more decades.

Now the political parties will have statistical data on number of people belong to a particular caste in a constituency . So they will ticket to a candidate from the majority caste. Not that its not happening now, but political parties will have the actual data with them once senses is over.

But one good thing about this census is ...we are going to have an option "no caste". So now we get to see how many Indians wants a caste-less society.

But why this caste based census? That too after so many decades? Lets say its becoz of the reservations govt offer people???

Since so-called 'golden age' of India, the khastriayas used to rule the kingdom so they have got money. The vyshyas used to take care of the business and they got money. And brahmins by flattering the kings or terrorizing the people in the religion and vedas got it. The last strata does not have power and did not have any money. So lower caste is equated to lower economy class. But is this true in the modern times?

Now economic status of a family is not so much based on the caste of the family. There are many brahmin families which are poor, same with khsatriyas and vyshyas...and there are many rich people from the lower caste!!

When supreme court gave its verdict about creamy layer in OBC reservation case.....another question raised... Should govt provide reservations based on caste or based on economic class?

Why should son of a MLA who belongs to OBC class should get the govt scholarship and why should not a son of a poor brahmin should get it?

Why still we equate lower castes with lower income class? cant we provide reservations based on economy of the family only? Just like now we have but instead of caste ...If your family income is up-to a level you will get certain % of reservation if it exceeds you will get different % of reservation. Is it hard to achieve? Anyway even in the present system students has to provide their caste certificate and income certificate to get the scholarship....if it changed then they had to provide only the income certificate.

Anyways if the caste census really happens then sociologists and anthropologists will have a lot to study about Indian population.

ఏ పుస్తకం చచ్చింది ?

ప్రజలు పుస్తకాలు చదవడం మానేసారు అని ...TV పుస్తకాన్ని చంపేస్తోంది అని కొంతమంది బాధ ...కానీ పుస్తకం నిజంగానే చనిపోయిందా ? కావొచ్చు !!!

చిన్నప్పటినుంచి ఏ వారపత్రిక చదివినా, ఏ పుస్తకం చదివినా దాదాపుగా పుబ్లిషేర్ అడ్రస్ రాజమండ్రి అని కాని, ఏలూరు రోడ్, విజయవాడ -2 , అని విండేది ....చాల పుస్తకాలకి అంతే ...కాని మొన్న రాజమండ్రి లో నాకు ఒక్క పుస్తకాల కొట్టు కూడా కనబడలేదు ....ప్రస్తుతం రాజమండ్రి వాళ్ళకి పుస్తకం అంటే textbook లేదా ఆధ్యాత్మిక పుస్తకం అంతే !!! నవల అన్నది కొనుక్కోవాలంటే రైల్వే స్టేషన్ కి వెళ్ళాలి, విశాలాంధ్ర ఆ వూర్లో మూతపడిందిట , అది సంగతి !!

కాని ఈ విషయం అన్ని చోట్లా నిజం అవ్వడం లేదు , amazon.com, books.rediff.com, flipkart.com , books.indiatimes.com , books.google.com వీటిని చూస్తె పుస్తకం మంచి ఆరోగ్యంగా బ్రతికే ఉంది అని తెలుస్తుంది. kindle, sony ebook reader లాంటి ఎన్నో ebook readers ప్రస్తుతం మార్కెట్ లో ఉన్నాయి, వీటిల్లో కొన్ని వేల పుస్తకాలూ load చేసుకుని ఎక్కడ కావాలంటే అక్కడ చదువుకోవచ్చు,....నిజంగా పుస్తకం చదవడం అనే లో అలవాటు ప్రజలకి తప్పిపోతే ఇవన్ని రావుగా? కొత్తగా వచ్చిన cell phones అన్నిటి లోను pdf-readers ఉంటున్నాయి, చాలా మంది ఇష్టపడరు కాని, కంప్యూటర్ లో చదివే అలవాటు కొంత మందికి ఉంది ( నేను చదివిన పుస్తకాలలో 70% computer లోనే చదివాను, నాకు పేజి తిప్పుతూ చదవాలంటే బద్ధకం ఎక్కువ, mouse తో scroll చేయడం తేలిక ). ప్రతి ఆదివారం, అబిడ్స్ పాత పుస్తకాలతో,పైరసీ పుస్తకాలతో, అవి కొనడానికి వచ్చే ప్రజలతో సందడిగా ఉంటుంది , చేతన్ భగత్ పుస్తకాలు ( simple language, contemporary topics, comedy and cost is always 95/- ) అసలు ఎప్పుడు పుస్తకాలు చదవని వాళ్ళ చేత కూడా చదివించాయి . ప్రస్తుతం audio books దొరుకుతున్నాయి చాలా పుస్తకాలకి , audio books ని మొబైల్ లో లోడ్ చేసుకుని , నడుచుకుంటూ వేల్తునపుడో , బస్సు లో వేల్తునపుడో కూడా ఒక book complete చేసేయొచ్చు ....ఇప్పుడు చెప్పండి ...పుస్తకం నిజంగా చనిపోయిందా ?

అవును, తెలుగు పుస్తకం పరిస్తితి అదే ...దానికి ఒక కారణం మన దగ్గర ఉన్న పుస్తకాల షాపులు ....ఒకసారి విశాలాంధ్ర వెళ్ళండి , odyssy కి వెళ్ళండి ...తేడా మీకే తెలుస్తుంది customer service లో , విశాలాంధ్ర షాపు లో ఏ పుస్తకాలు ఉన్నాయో అక్కడ పనిచేసే వారికీ కూడా సరిగ్గా తెలియదు ....షాప్ ని 7.30 కల్లా మూసేస్తారు కాబట్టి ఆఫీసు నుంచి ఇంటికి వెళ్తూ కొనుక్కుని వెళ్ళే అవకాశం లేదు , ఆదివారం వాళ్ళకి సెలవు , ఆ రోజు కూడా కుదరదు , పోనీ english books లాగా తెలుగు books కూడా online shopping option ఉన్నా బాగుంటుంది , అది కూడా లేదు.

ఇప్పుడు తెలుగు చదవడం రాయడం చాలా మందికి రాదు అని ఒక argument, కాని దాన్లో నిజం ఎంత ఉంది, ఈనాడు, స్వాతి, ఆంధ్ర జ్యోతి, సాక్షి circulations చూడండి , ప్రజలకి తెలుగు చదవం వచ్చా రాదా అన్నది తెలుస్తుంది ....పోనీ తెలుగు చదవడం రాయడం రాకపోయినా , దాదాపుగా అందరు తెలుగు లోనే మాట్లాడుకుంటాం, తెలుగులో audio books release చేయడానికి ఏం problem ?

చెత్త కధలు !!

ఎప్పుడిన బస్సు లో కాని, ట్రైన్లో కానీ , లేక పెళ్ళిలో ఎవరితో అన్న టైం పాస్ కి సుత్తి వేస్తునపుడు ...కొన్ని కొత్త కొత్త విషయాలు తెలుస్తు ఉంటాయి ...అవి విన్నగానే...ఏదో కొత్త జ్ఞానం వచ్చిన ఫీలింగ్ వస్తుంది ....కాని ఆ జ్ఞానం నిజమా కాదా అని చెక్ చేసినపుడు వింత గా అనిపిస్తుంది .... అలంటివి కొన్ని ...

1. NTR వల్ల మన రాష్ట్రం లో కరణాలు తొలగించబడి , పంచాయితీరాజ్ వ్యవస్థ వచ్చింది అనీ, NTR కి అదేదో వూర్లో ఎవరో కరణం తో గొడవ వల్ల , ముఖ్యమంత్రి అవ్వగానే కరణీకం ని రద్దు చేయించాడు అని .....ఎవరిన చెబితే లైట్ తీస్కోండి .... పంచాయితీరాజ్ వ్యవస్థ అనేది NTR తీసుకు వచ్చింది కాదు , భారత రాజ్యాంగం 73 వ సవరీకరణ వల్ల వచ్చింది , అది కేవలం ఆంధ్ర ప్రదేశ్ కి మాత్రమే కాదు , మొత్తం దేశానికి , NTR వల్ల కాదు.

2. పాకిస్తాన్ , ఇండియా విడిపోవడం అనేది గాంధి ఒప్పుకోవడం వల్ల జరిగింది అని , కొంతమంది చెప్పడం గాంధి వల్లే జరిగింది అని , నిజానికి పాకిస్తాన్ ఏర్పాటు ఆలోచన ముస్లిం లీగ్ ది, ముస్లిం లీగ్ ముందు నుంచి ముస్లింలకి వేరే దేశం కావాలి అని పట్టు పట్టుకుని కూర్చొంది, తర్వాత మత ఘర్షణలు చాలా జరిగాయి , తదనంతరం, మౌంట్ బాటెన్ ప్లాన్ ప్రకారం విభజన జరిగింది, ఈ మొత్తం వ్యవహారం లో గాంధీ పాత్ర పెద్దగ ఏమి లేదు, గాంధీ ఒప్పుకోవడం వల్ల్ల ఏమి జరగలేదు, నిజానికి గాంధీ తన అనుచరుడు పట్టాభి సీతారామయ్య ని కాంగ్రెస్ అధ్యక్ష్యుడు గా ప్రచారం చేస్తే , అతని ప్రత్యర్ధి సుభాష్ చంద్రబోస్ కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీ కి అధ్యక్షుడు అయ్యాడు, ఒక పార్టీ లోనే తన పంతం నేగ్గించుకోలేని వ్యక్తి , ఒక దేశాన్ని ముక్కలు చేయ్యగాలడా ?

౩. దేశ విభజన మీద ఇంకో కధ ఏంటంటే, స్వతంత్రం వచ్చినపుడు జిన్నా కి స్వంత్ర దేశానికి ప్రధాని అయ్యే అవకాశాలు ఎక్కువగా ఉన్నాయని , అసూయ తో మండిపోయిన నెహ్రు , మౌంట్ బాటెన్ భార్యతో తనకు వున్నా చనువుని ఉపయోగించి, దేశాన్ని రెండుగా విభజించే ఆలోచనని మౌంట్ బాటెన్ కి అందిచాడని, అలాగా అతను ప్రధాన మంత్రి అయ్యాడు అని , నిజానికి దేశాన్ని విభజించే ఆలోచన ముస్లిం లీగే ది, జిన్నా ములిం లీగ్ అధ్యక్షుడు !!! మరి నెహ్రు కి మౌంట్ బాటెన్ భార్యకి మధ్య ఉన్న చనువు శృంగారం అని అంటారు , రుజువులు అయితే ఏమి లేవు.

4. ఎప్పుడినా RSS శాక కి వెళ్ళరా ? అక్కడ "భారత మాట బిడ్డలం, భగత్ సింగ్ తమ్ములం " అని స్లోగన్ కి అరుస్తూ ఉంటారు, అది విని, RSS వాళ్ళేదో , దేశభక్తీ విపరీతంగా ఉన్న హిందువులు , ఇంకా ఆ సంస్థ లోంచే భగత్ సింగ్ స్వాతంత్ర ఉద్యమం లో పాల్గొన్నాడు అని అనుకోకండి , ఆ సంస్థ స్వతంత్రం రావడానికి ముందు ఏర్పడ్డా, స్వాతంత్రోద్యమంలో ఏమాత్రం పాల్గొనలేదు, ఆ సంస్థ ఏర్పాటు చేయబడ్డది హిందువుల కోసం, భారతీయుల కోసం కాదు. ఇంకా భగత్ సింగ్ తనని తానూ ఎప్పుడు హిందువు గా చెప్పుకోలేదు, అతని ఒక సోషలిస్టు , దేవుడిని నమ్మని వాడు , "why i am an atheist" పుస్తకాన్ని రాసాడు .

5. భారత దేశ గొప్పతనాన్ని వివరిస్తూ ...గత 10,000 ఏళ్ళుగా మన దేశం ఇంకో దేశం మీద దాడి చెయ్యలేదని, ఈ విషయం పట్ల ఎంతో గొప్పగా ఫీల్ అవ్వాలని వివరిస్తూ తెగ మెయిల్స్ వస్తుంటాయి మనకి, నిజానికి భారత దేశం అనబడే దేశం ౩౦౦ ఏళ్ళ ముందు వరకు లేనే లేదు , ప్రస్తుతం ఉన్న రాష్ట్రాలన్నీ సుమారుగా, ఒకప్పుడు వేరు వేరు దేశాలే , అప్పట్లో మనలో మనం కొట్టుకోడం లో బిజీ గా ఉంది, హిమాలయాలని దాటి ఇంకోల్లతో కొట్లాట పెట్టుకోవాలని మన వాళ్లకి అనిపించలేదు , మనం శాంతి కోరే వాళ్ళమా? కొంతకాలం క్రితం వరకు వచ్చిన సినిమాలు చూస్తె తెలుస్తుంది మనం శాంతిని ఎంత కోరుకుంటామో, క్లిమాక్ష్ లో ఫైట్లు లేకపోతే ఆ సినిమా ఆడుతుందా అసలు ? ఇప్పుడు generation ఆడుతున్న video games చూస్తె తెలుస్తుంది మనం శాంతిని ఎంతగా కోరుకుంటామో ....

6. ఇది లేటెస్ట్ ..... ప్రత్యెక తెలంగాణ వస్తే , హైదరాబాద్ లో ఉన్న ఆంధ్రా వాళ్ళు అందరిని తరిమేస్తారు అని , భారతీయులు దేశం లో ఎక్కడ అయిన సరే నివసించే హక్కు ఉంది , ప్రత్యెక తెలంగాణా వస్తే ఇక్కడి తెలంగాణా ప్రజలకి ప్రభుత్వ ఉద్యోగాలు వస్తాయి, ఇక్కడి నిర్ణయాలు ఇక్కడి ప్రజలకి తేసుకునే అధికారం ఎక్కువగా ఉంటుంది, అంతే !!! హైదరాబాద్ లో గుజరాత్ నుంచి వచ్చిన మార్వాడీలు, మరాఠీలు, మలయాళం వాళ్ళు చాలా మంది ఉన్నారు , వాళ్ళని కూడా ఎవరు తరిమేయ్యారు. తెలంగాణా ఉద్యమం మహారాష్ట్ర లో MNS తరహాలో ఏమి జరగడం లేదు , ఈ ఉద్యమం కేవలం ఉద్యోగాలు, ప్రాజెక్టులు కోసం మాత్రమే , ఆంధ్ర ప్రజల మీద కాదు . KCR ఈ విషయాన్నీ నొక్కి మరీ చెప్పారు .

ఇంటివి చాలా ఉంటాయి, వినగానే నమ్మేసి, ప్రచారం చేయకుండా, ముందు నిజాన్ని తెలుసుకుంటే మంచిది.
