Just completed watching this movie. I would say it’s a different movie. The screenplay was good, not so gripping but good. And music is average even though its by Rehman.

The movie was based on the autobiographical book “Between a rock and a hard place”. I guess the director Danny Boyle wants to have the same things in this film just like the old one which made in to Oscars. i.e movie out of a book, a.r. rehman. Probably even Rehman thought in the same way too and dreamt of another Oscar. But this time the movie is nominated only for Best movie and best actor but not for the Best background music.

The movie is about an adventurer who’s hand was struck in between rocks in Grand canyon. With no food , water, mobility and sunshine after few hours in that frustration his mind starts playing tricks on him. He gets ridiculous dreams about the past and future. He starts to regret and finally after 127 hours he gets out of the position.

At the end there is a moral for adventurers, let somebody know where you are going.

But one thing Grand canyon was shown beautifully in the beginning of the movie. Don’t miss it.

తెలుగు బ్లాగర్లు

ఈ వారం అంతా ఎక్కువ సేపు తెలుగు బ్లాగ్స్ చదువుతూ గడిపాను. చాలా మంది రాస్తున్నారు, చాలా రాస్తున్నారు.

కాని అది కాదు అసలు విషయం. తెలుగు బ్లాగర్లంతా కలిసి blogspot.com, wordpress.com లని ఒక social networking site స్థాయికి తీసుకువెళ్ళారు. గ్రూపులు కట్టేశారు.. Orkut లో , facebook లో fake accounts లాగా ఇక్కడ fake bloggers కూడా ఉన్నారు. అంటే ఒకడే బ్లాగర్ నాలుగయిదు ప్రోఫైల్స్ తో ఒక 8 or 9 బ్లాగులు నడుపుతుంటాడు. ఆ కుంభకోణం ఈ మధ్యే బయటపడినట్టుంది….చాలా చర్చ సాగుతోంది ప్రస్తుతం.

ఎవరో ప్రియ ట, గీతాచార్య ట , …మధ్యలో ఆ ప్రియ చచ్చిపోయిందిట …..దీన్లో ఏమి నిజం లేదు అని కొందరు blog-detectives కనిపెట్టాకా, ప్రియదయ్యం పేరుతో ఇంకో బ్లాగ్ స్టార్ట్ అయింది…ఆ ప్రియ చచ్చి ఎలా నరకనికిపోయిందో వివరిస్తూ….మొదట్లో ఈ గోలంతా కుతూహలంగా అనిపించింది కాని తర్వాత బోర్ కొట్టింది…ఇక లైట్ తీసుకున్న…

ఎక్కువ శాతం బ్లాగ్స్ లో కవితలు, కథలు, సొంత అనుభవాలు ఉన్నాయి. కొన్ని బ్లాగ్స్ లో తెలుగు మూవీ గాసిప్స్ పొందుపరుస్తున్నారు…రాజాకీయాల మీద చాలా బ్లాగ్స్ ఉన్నాయి…

ఇక కొంతమంది గ్రూప్ బ్లాగర్లు ఉన్నారు…..అంటే వీరంతా ఒకే రకమైన ఆలోచనా ధోరణి ఉన్నవాళ్ళు, వీళ్ళ బ్లాగ్స్ ఎక్కువగా మతం మీదనో, తెలంగాణా విప్లవం మీదనో, జగన్ మీదనో ఉంటున్నాయి. ఈ గ్రూప్ లో అందరి బ్లాగ్ పోస్ట్స్ ఇంచుమించు ఒకే టాపిక్ కవర్ చేస్తాయి. ఆ టాపిక్ కి ఎవరైనా వ్యతిరేకంగా కామెంట్ పెడితే ..గ్రూప్ మొత్తం గా దాడి చేస్తుంది….కించపరిచే వాఖ్యలు , అప్పుడప్పుడు బెదిరింపులు కూడా వస్తుంటాయి.. బూతులు ఎక్కువగా Anonymous గా కామెంట్ చేయబడతాయి.

ఒక బ్లాగ్ లో అయితే ఆ బ్లాగ్ ఓనర్, ఇంకో బ్లాగ్ ఓనర్ వాదించుకున్న personal emails కూడా పెట్టారు.

మొత్తానికి తెలుగు బ్లాగులు మటుకు మస్తున్నాయి, టీవీ సేరియల్స్ దగ్గరనుంచి , ఫోటోగ్రఫి, తత్వం, వంటల మీద దాకా అన్ని రకాల బ్లాగ్స్ ఉన్నాయి.

Revolution every 5yrs !!

I have read many blogs since the last weekend, and I noticed that some bloggers are anticipating an Egypt like revolution  in India. Some bloggers even wrote poems on it too. They are expecting a revolution which ends corruption in here and which will give good governance.

Right from the French revolution which happened 220yrs ago to the late Egypt one, the theme is same i.e people are pissed off because govt is not listening to them and there is no easy to way to replace this govt to the one which listens to them. This phenomenon usually happens in Monarchy and in dictatorship. So the cause of revolution is when people start to think that they have no influence on govt policies.

And democracy is the system when people are allowed to change the govt every five years if they are not happy with the way it worked. People were happy with the work of UPA-1 so they elected it again. People were happy with chandrababu nayudu’s performance in the his first four years tenure as CM and they elected him again. But they become unhappy in the second term and they said bye to him in 2004 elections!!

Egyptians  had to put up with Mr. Mubarak for 30yrs. Now they are going to streets to overthrow him. In democracy, people don’t need to wait decades together till their hatred towards the govt shoots up the roof. In democracy they change the govt periodically using the process called elections. No need to spill the blood or filling the jails for the sake of changing the govt. All we need is to…………… vote.

బామ్మ రామకోటి రాస్తుంది. ఏమి తోచక, బాబాయి లౌ లేతరులు రాస్తాడు. బాబాయికి పని దొరకలేదుట కదా . ఇలా అని నాన్న అన్నాడు. అయిన పని దొరుకుతున్దేమితి? గోళీలు అయితే దొరుకుతాయి గాని,

బామ్మ బొత్తిగా మతి మరుపుమనిషి . అట్లా అని బామ్మే అంటుంది.అంటే మనం ఆకులు బొత్తిగా పెడటమే అట్టా అన్నమాట. మర్చిపోకుండా రాసిన మాటే సాయంకాలం దాకా రాసుకుంటుంది.అందుకని రామకోటి అంటారు దాన్ని.

ఆమ్మ ఏమి రాయదు . అమ్మకి పాపం గుడిన్తాలు కూడా రావు. అందుకని రోజు నాన్న తలకి బొబ్బర్నూనే రాస్తుంది. నేను ఒద్దన్న “ఉహు “ వినదు. ప్రైవేటు చెప్పి అయినా రాస్తుంది. పాపం చదువు రాదుకదా అందుకని నేను వూరుకుంటాను .

ప్రేమ గుడ్డిదని బాబాయి చెప్పాడు. బామ్మ కళ్ళజోడు నేను పెట్టుకునేటప్పుడు తీసికెళ్ళి పోతానే అప్పుడు బామ్మ గుడ్డిది అయిపోతుంది కదా అట్టాంటి దాన్నమాట. మనం ప్రేమించుకోనకపోతే నారాయణ కొట్టు దారి కూడా గుడ్డి అవుతుంది.

బాబాయి కాయితాల మీద రాస్తాదనుకో ! నేను పలక మీద గుండ్రంగా రాయాలిత. ప్రేమించుకునే వుత్తరాలు టీసుకోరత. ప్రేమంటే అచ్చంగా ఇంచ్చేయడంట .

ఇహ ప్రైవేటు మాస్టారు వచ్చినా పలక ఉండదన్న మాట. నువ్వు అవకతవకగా రాసి నా పలక ఇచ్చేకూడదు సిన్మాలోలాగా త్యాగం ఇచ్చేయడం అన్నమాట.

And what's so great about being a republic?

Not many citizens get the meaning of republic. the meaning of republic. I have never understood it when I was a school kid. All I know is I have to include few more things to the Independence day speech along with the date of the day. I will have to include three words , those are ambedkar, constitution and rajendraprasad. I have to replace the “independence day” with “republic day” and agust 15th with january 26th. Everything else like gandhi, bhagatsingh , azad, nehru, their struggle for freedom , their sacrifice etc etc …these things will remain the same. That’s it, my speech is ready and I am good to go to stage. And we collect our chocolates and go home then enjoy the the rest of the day. Its like ambedkar and rajendraprasad worked very hard so that Indians can have one more public holiday.

After my school, I get to stay at home and watch the live show from New Delhi, where Indian army weapons and  diverse culture of India are paraded on decorated-trucks, after attending the colony flag hosting by our local leader who always comes late and delivers a speech no better than a school kid.
I never really understood what’s republic is all about. I suck at social studies. In the meanwhile I have seen the Gladiator movie. I loved the fighting scenes and background music, but the dialog “Rome should be republic again” made me think about it a lot.

A country could be called a republic if people get to choose by whom they will be governed. And it also means the nation no longer following monarchy. We don’t have monarchy now, so that’s why we are republic? In that case August 15th should be considered the day India become Republic. Why its January 26th?

Keeping aside the textbook definitions, republic means people having control over the govt. India has adopted the constitution on this day, which creates a framework within which govt has to work. It says
WE, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA, having solemnly resolved to
constitute India into a SOVEREIGN SOCIALIST SECULAR DEMOCRATIC
REPUBLIC and to secure to all its citizens

So we are responsible for whatever happens in India. Either good or bad. The politicians are not corrupt , WE elected those corrupt people as our legislators, and its us who didn’t bother not to re-elect those politicians. We made this country rise like a phoenix from the ashes after independence. . Its us who evade paying taxes and then shout that govt not spending money on poor ppl and police are still carrying archaic arms. And its us again who formed many NGO’s to take care of society we live in. Its us who spit and pee on the roads and roared when  an official said that “Indians have different standards of hygiene”.

In a nutshell, republic means people make the rulers. And it’s the people who are responsible for fate of the nation.

నిన్న మహా టీవీ లో న్యూస్ వచ్చింది….మన ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు ఒకప్పుడు జగన్ ని ఒక హత్య కేసు నుంచి కాపాడారని ప్రకటించారని. …ఈ న్యూస్ మీద తర్వాత రోజు చాల హంగామా అవుతుంది అనుకున్నా…తర్వాత అర్థం అయింది ఏమిటంటే …ఇది “MAHA TV EXCLUSIVE PUKAR” అని….ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు రచ్చబండ లో ఏమన్నారో …ఈ చెవిటి జర్నలిస్టులకు ఏమి వినిపించిందో….నిన్న సాయంత్రం అంతా మహా టీవీ లో ఈ గోలే సాగింది…

ఇలాంటి పిచ్చి వాగుడు వాగుతారనే ….SKC report తర్వాత పోలీసులు electronic media ని నోరుమూసుకోమని చెప్పింది…

electronic media కన్నా print media బెటర్ ఈ విషయం లో…వాళ్ళు కాస్త అలోచించి …వచ్చిన న్యూస్ ని ఇంకోసారి చెక్ చేసుకుని ప్రజలకి చేరుస్తారు…

Makara jyoyhi

Recently at shabarimala 106 people died of stampede. Probably they are too eager to watch the ‘divine’ makarajyothi. Starting that day many tweets and facebook status messages were on the internet questioning benevolence of religion. Especially by Marxists and atheists.Next day media shunted kerala govt for posing only 4 police men to handle around 3 lakh devotees. Kerala high court is watching the whole case now.

The observing of makara jyothi is considered to be a sacred thing and an astronomical wonder. It supposed to drive away daemons. . Because it starts about the same time harathi is given to lord ayyappa.  I am not sure now but earlier this sacred incident used to be telecasted live in the tv. I remember it because my aunt made me to do namaskaram to the jyothi when its happening in kerala. Yes, I did a namaskaram to the TV..hehe.

But the stampede issue raised the  questioning of divinity of the jyothi again.. Now interesting stories are coming out about it. In olden days, the tribes who live on the hilltops of ponnambalmedu ( it’s the name of the hill over which makarajyothi always been sighted) used to make the fire. Now as the tribes are driven out of forest, the Travancore Devaswom Board took up the fire-making duty every year. To make things easy they even constructed a cement platform there. The encircled part in the picture  is the shabarimala temple complex. And don’t get ideas to go for a trek on ponnambalmedu hill and take pics of the platform with your mobile camera. Its restricted area now.

Is it wrong to create superstations to make  religion more miraculous? . As buchibabu in “chivaraku migiledi” indicates that the cleverest of all the human deeds is the creation of god. Don brown in “Angels and demons” argues that we need miracles in the name of religion to preserve the concept of god.

Yes, many people need god. And they rely on him because he is powerful. So to keep up his image he (or someone else on his name) should show his strength to the world now and then.

But is it right to allow these things (makarajyothi, ganesha drinking milk , mother Mary shedding the tears of blood, ash from baba’s picture, lightening up of lamps in which water is used as fuel…etc etc ) so that we can have faith in god again. No, because usually  its not the fear of god which goes to our head when we see such things, its usually the conceit of religion which gets hold of brain which asks us to hate others. Probably these things might have served the purpose in the old days where each religion is confined to one region. In the era of globalization these are bad for the society. 

గుర్రం గుర్నాధం

మొన్న ఒక website లో నా బ్లాగు చేర్చమని mail రాస్తే…నాకు reply ఇచ్చిన వ్యక్తి నన్ను ఆర్యా అని refer చేసి ( చిన్నప్పుడు నేను రాసే leave letters గుర్తొచ్చాయి…ఆర్యా…నాకు జ్వరం వచ్చిన కారణం వల్ల తరగతికి హాజరు కాలేకపోతున్నాను…నాకు సెలవు ఇప్పిన్చవలసిన్దిగా కోరుతున్నాను…..ఇలా రాసే వాడిని )….ఆ తర్వాత అయన అంతర్జాలానికి దూరంగా ఉండటం వల్ల ఆలస్యంగా సమాధానం ఇస్తున్నా అని explanation ఇచ్చాడు…..ఈ అంతర్జాలం ఏంటి మార్జాలం లాగా అనుకున్నా….తర్వాత అర్థం అయింది అయన internet అంటున్నాడు అని….

ఇంత భయపెట్టే-తెలుగు (దాన్నే గ్రాంధికం అని కూడా అంటారు ) చదివాకా….చూపులు కలసిన శుభవేళ సినెమా లో కోట శ్రీనివాసరావు character గుర్తొచ్చింది…..నేనయితే వెంటనే youtube లో videos చూసి ఆనందించా….

Dice వేసుకుని తేల్చుకోవచ్చనా ?

ఈ రోజే శ్రీ కృష్ణ కమిటీ రిపోర్ట్ బయటకి వచ్చింది….ఏదో ఉంటుంది అనుకుంటే….చెత్త options ఇచ్చి ..సమైఖ్య ఆంధ్ర ని సపోర్ట్ చేసింది . తెలంగాణా ఇవ్వాలా వొద్దా? ఒకవేళ ఇస్తే హైదరాబాద్ ని ఎం చెయ్యాలో సలహా ఇమ్మంటే….ఒక అర డజను సలహాలు ఇచ్చింది….దాన్లో రాయలసీమ -తెలంగాణ ని ఒక రాష్ట్రము చేయోచ్చు అని ఒక సలహా….రాయలసీమ-తెలంగాణా ఒక రాష్ట్రము కావాలి అని ఎప్పుడు అనుకున్నాయి? మరి ఎందుకు ఆ ఆప్షన్ ?
లేకపోతే శ్రీ కృష్ణ కమిటీ వాళ్ళకి ఒక ఆలోచన వచ్చి ఉంటుంది…..ఆరు సలహాలు ఇస్తే dice వేసుకుని ఒకటి నిర్ణయించుకోడానికి మనకి తేలికగా ఉంటుంది అనేమో ?

పాపం CBI !!!

పోయిన సంవత్సరం SC విచారణ ఎలా చెయ్యాలి అన్న విషయం మీద CBI కి క్లాసు పీకింది …సర్లే ఏదో పీకిన్దిలే అని విచారణ ముందుకు పోనిస్తూ ఉంటే …నీరా రాడియా టేప్లు బయటపడ్డాయి …ఆ కోణం లో విచారణ జరపాల్సిన పరిస్తితి వచ్చింది …

కొత్త సంవత్సరం ప్రారంభం కాగానే ఆరుషి హత్య కేసు ఎందుకు మూసేసారు అని గోల మొదలయింది…..తర్వాత ఎప్పుడో మూసేసిన బోఫోర్స్ కేసు మళ్ళి బయటకి లాగుతున్నారు.

ఆరుషి హత్య కేసు లో ముందుగా స్థానిక పోలీసులు చాలా చెత్తలా విచారణ జరిపారు ఉన్న ఆధారాలని నాశనం చేస్తూ …ఆ కేసు కాస్తా CBI కి వచ్చింది …ఆధారాలు లేవు …కేసు క్లోజ్ చేద్దామంటే ప్రజలు కొవ్వత్తులు పట్టుకుని రోడ్ మీద నడుస్తూ తిడుతున్నారు …పోనీ అలానే వదిలేద్దమా అంటే “బ్రేకింగ్ న్యూస్ “ దొరక్కపోతే news anchors స్టూడియో లో కూర్చొని ఆరుషి ఫోటో background లో పెట్టి తిడుతున్నారు …

ఎవ్వరికి ఏ విషయం లో కోపం వచ్చినా “CBI విచారణ” అంటారు .. ప్రభుత్వం కూడా వీళ్ళకి కేసు అప్పగిస్తే వచ్చే ఎన్నికల వరకు ప్రతిపక్షము వాళ్ళు ఈ విషయం లో అరవడానికి ఏమి ఉండదు కదా అని వీళ్ళకి ఇచ్చేస్తారు .

పోనీ ఇచ్చిన ప్రతి కేసుని solve చేసుకుంటూ వెళ్దామంటే …CBI court తీర్పుని High court లో , దాని తీర్పుని supreme court లో question చేస్తూ ఇలా ప్రతి కేసు దశాబ్దాలు సాగుతూ ఉంటుంది …దీన్లో న్యాయవ్యవస్థ నెమ్మదితనం ఎంత ? CBI విచారణ జరిపిన కాలం ఎంత అని ఎవరు పెద్దగా పట్టించుకోరు .

తవ్విన కేసునే తిరిగి తవ్వి, మళ్ళి తవ్వి, మళ్ళి తవ్వి …..ఇంత తవ్వడం ఒక గునపం తీసుకుని భూమిలోకి తవ్వితే భూగోళం కి అవతల వైపు నుంచి బయటకి వచున్దేవాళ్ళు ఈ పాటికి . ఇంత తవ్వుతున్నా సరిగ్గా తవ్వడం రాదు అన్న పేరు మాత్రం మిగులుతోంది.

ప్రేమ : ఇంకో యండమూరి నవల. Anthropology టచ్ కొంత ఉంది. ఇద్దరి వ్యక్తుల మధ్య ప్రేమ మీద కన్నా, ఒక వ్యక్తికి ప్రపంచం మీద ఉన్న ప్రేమని వివరించడానికి కాస్త కష్టపడ్డాడు అనిపించింది.

The so called intellectual journalists of Indian media started writing articles on how the stubbornness of opposition over JPC lead to 240cr loss as each day of parliament running cost is around 6cr.
Can we forget about 2G scam and move forward in parliamentary sessions for the sake of running costs? My answer would be a big NO. Its like forgetting about a murder case, because the investigation, the judgment  and the punishment to the guilty wont bring the man alive. And we cant neglect those because god is going to punish him anyway.  The philosophy behind giving the punishment is not always to undo the injustice that has happened in the past. Sometimes its to create fear if anybody wants to do the same crime in the future.   If we suspect that a crime happened, a proper investigation should be conducted and punishment must be given.
The major tussle over 2G scam is not to find the guilty but on deciding who is to investigate. Opposition believes that only a JPC can do the job, Govt argues that its not necessary, as PAC is already doing the same kind of thing.The major difference between PAC and JPC is , JPC has the power to call a minister and question him. PAC wont have that power. Are we going to investigate india’s biggest scam, with a committee which does not have the powers to question ministers?
Well, the Indian motto is “Truth Alone Triumphs” ( satyameva jayathe), cant truth in 2G scam triumph through JPC? If there is only truth, does it matter who finds it? And our prime minister made a reference to Caesar's wife saying that “ I believe that like Caesar’s wife, PM should be above suspicion” , forget about ceasar’s wife,  this is the great land where wife of greatest lord of this land had to jump in the fire to prove her purity. And that’s what opposition wants him to be, a sita who jumps before JPC .

A Miracle in The Hindu

Two weeks back a miracle happened in the Hindu news paper. There was a picture of a tribal women and her child crying for loss of the head of the family. I thought the guy was another victim of police encounter as the news is reported in the second page. But I was wrong, he was killed by Maoists doubting that he was an informer. The news is odd, as usually news papers print these kind of news in 7th or 8th page without any pictures. They only highlight the news where cops are bad, especially The Hindu. The journalist condemned the killing. I thought its some kind of mistake, in the later pages an article was printed about the completion of 10yrs of PLGA (People’s liberation guerrilla army), explaining how powerful it became, how it is structuralised, informing that it has managed to kill around 2000 cops in the last decade, Informing that the technology for making and planting Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) has been successfully imparted to the large 30,000 base force, but also said that PLGA is losing the trust of tribes.

But it did not stop there, that week’s Frontline (Dec 17th Edition) came with an article on how youth are recruited in the name of fake NGO’s and how girls are sexually harassed.

For the regular readers of The Hindu, its kind of a weird thing to happen, Hindu always tried to maintain its leftist ideology. Anti-americanism, trying to show the brutality of police on tribes, and trying to make Maoists as heroes etc etc

. Its an open secret that the so called intellectuals usually extend their support to the poor, the poor farmer, the oppressed women and naxalites, sitting in an A/C room filled with journalists. Even the so called ‘Human rights activists’ wont their voices against the atrocities of Maoists. The interesting question is Why?

“వీడు జన్మభూమి Express కి Brand ambassador”  ఈ మాట నేను సంవత్సరానికి రెండు మూడు సార్లన్నా వింటాను మా చుట్టాల దగ్గరనుంచి. హైదరాబద్ నుంచి వైజాగ్ వెళ్ళాలి అనగానే , అందరికి గుర్తొచ్చేది గోదావరి express. దానికి రిజర్వేషన్ తీసుకుని, బెర్త్ ఎక్కి, ఇంటి నుంచి డబ్బాలో తెచ్చుకున్న పెరుగన్నం ఇంత తిని, ఎదురుగుండా వాళ్ళతో కాసేపు మాట్లాడి, నిద్రపోయి, మధ్యలో బాత్రూం కి అని లేచి, ఆ నిద్రమత్తులో చెప్పులు వెతుక్కుని, ట్రైన్ లో వూగుతూ నడిచి, పొద్దునే లేచి వూగుతూ పళ్ళు తోముకోవడం ,  హైదరాబాద్ కి వైజాగ్ కి మధ్యలో ప్రయాణం అంటే ప్రజలకి ఉండే ఐడియా ఇది. వీళ్ళ దృష్టిలో ప్రయాణం అనేది ఒక టైం వేస్ట్ పని, కాబట్టి ప్రయాణాలు రాత్రి పూట పెట్టుకోవాలి అని. ఈ కాన్సెప్ట్ నాకు ఎప్పుడు నచ్చలేదు .నా పర్సనల్ ఛాయస్ మటుకు జన్మభూమి

ముందుగా రకరకాల మనుష్యులతో మాట్లాడే ఛాన్స్ వస్తుంది, రకరకాల మాండలికాలు, వాళ్ళకు రాజకీయాల మీద ఉన్న అభిప్రాయాలు, ఇలాంటివి తెలుస్తాయి, ఇంకా కొంతమంది అయితే..వల్ల ఫామిలీ విషయాలు కూడా చర్చిస్తారు. కాకపోతే unreserved లోనే వెళ్ళాలి, అప్పుడే ప్రతి గంట , రెండు గంటలకి కొత్త మొహాలు మన ఎదురుగా వస్తాయి ( మన wavelenght match అయ్యే వాళ్ళు ఉంటె బాగానే ఉంటుంది, మొన్న జూన్ లో అలానే ఒక ఫామిలీ మధ్యలో కూర్చొని ఇరుక్కు పోయా…పెళ్ళిళ్ళ సీజన్లో ఫ్లైట్ టికెట్స్ దొరక్క, వాళ్ళు దీన్లో వచ్చారుట…చిరాకు తెప్పించారు నాకు ). ఇంకా మధ్యమధ్యలో లో టీ, కాఫీ, సమోసా, …ఇవి కాకుండా పక్క వాళ్ళు, ఎదురుగ కూర్చొనే వాళ్ళు ఇచ్చే చేగోడీలు, జంతికలు లాంటి చిరుతిళ్ళు, …మరీ ఆకలి వేస్తె, IRCTC వాడి పులిహోర కానీ బిర్యాని కాని దొరుకుతాయి.

కాని అదే ప్రయాణాన్ని పగటి పూట చేస్తే ఇంకా ఎంజాయ్ చేయోచ్చు అని నా నమ్మకం.,..రాత్రి పూట ఏమి కనిపియ్యవు కాని, పగటి పూట ప్రయాణం లో ట్రాక్ కి అటు ఇటు ఉన్న పొలాలు, తోటలు, తాటి చెట్లు, రైల్వే గేటు దగ్గర వేచి చూస్తున్న ప్రజలు, వాగులు, మధ్య మధ్యలో కొండలు, గుట్టలు, అడవులు, …సిటీ లో కనిపియ్యవు కాని, పొలాల మధ్య లోంచి వెళ్తున్న కరెంటు తీగల మీద రామచిలకలు కూడా కనిపిస్తాయి, ఇవన్ని పగటి పూట ఏ ట్రైన్ లో ప్రయాణం చేసినా కనిపిస్తాయేమో కానీ, జన్మభూమి ప్రయాణీకులకి మాత్రం ….సరిగ్గా సాయంకాలం అయ్యే సరికి తూర్పు కనుమలు కనిపిస్తాయి. ఇక చీకటి పడుతూ ఉంది అన్న టైం కి లేచి వెళ్లి, footboard మీద ప్రశాంతంగా కూర్చొని , ఆ చలిలో కాఫీ తాగుతూ, తూర్పుకనుమలు చూస్తూ ఉంటె భలే ఉంటుంది, ఆ కొండల మధ్యలో అన్నవరం కొండ మాత్రం లైట్స్ వల్ల మెరిసిపోతూ ఉంటుంది…ఆ వ్యూ ఇంకా బాగుంటుంది…నేను దైవ భక్తుడని ఏమి కాదు కాని, ఆ మసక చీకట్లో, అన్ని కొండల మధ్యలో అన్నవరం కొండ చాలా బాగుంది అనిపిస్తుంది.ఇక దీనికన్నా ముందు వచ్చే గోదావరి బ్రిడ్జి, అక్కడి ఇసుక తిన్నెలు, బ్రిడ్జి రాగానే దాన్లో చిల్లర వేసి దండం పెట్టె ప్రజల గురించి చెప్పక్కర్లేదు కదా

దాదాపుగా 12 గంటల ప్రయాణం,  easy గా ఒక పుస్తకం చదివేయ్య్యోచ్చు, ఏ తాపీ ధర్మారావు పుస్తకాలు కానీ , చలం పుస్తకాలు కానీ పట్టుకున్నమంటే 2 or 3  complete చేసేయొచ్చు, ఆ పుస్తకాలు కాస్త ఆలోచింపచేస్తాయి….ఎలాగు సెల్ సిగ్నల్ సరిగ్గా ఉండదు కాబట్టి…బయట ప్రపంచం మనల్ని పెద్దగా disturb చేయలేదు, కాబట్టి ప్రశాంతంగా ఆలోచించుకోవచ్చు

160 రూపాయలకి ఇంత fun ఉంటె, ఎక్కువ ఖర్చు పెట్టి మరీ ఇదంతా దూరం చేసుకోవాలా అనిపిస్తుంది. ఏదో ఆఫీసు లో సెలవులు దొరకని వాళ్ళకి కాని, నాలా నైట్ షిఫ్ట్ చేసిన వాళ్ళకి, ఖాళీగా ఉన్న వాళ్ళకి నో ప్రాబ్లం, …..అంటే ఒక ప్రాబ్లం ఉంటుంది ఈ జన్మభూమి లో …కూర్చుంటే కాళ్ళు పట్టవు, అదొక్కటే గోల …

కాకపోతే పెళ్ళిళ్ళ సీజన్లో మటుకు ఈ ట్రైన్ లో వెళ్ళకూడదు, ఒక్కో సరి కూర్చోడానికి సీట్ కూడా దొరకదు, నేను హైదరాబాద్ నుంచి అమలాపురం వరకు  నిలబడి వెళ్ళా ఒకసారి …అంత rush గా ఉంటె , ఏమి ఎంజాయ్ చెయ్యలేము .

Our Environment minister is a hyper-active one. No project in India is spared from his wrath. He  thinks about everything  from the angle of environment. And sometimes he is forcing us to think “That guy is too much”.

As he is taking the role of environmentalist, no project work is going on as planned and Medha padkar putting on weight as she has nothing to start a hunger strike against.

He stopped every project in the state of arunchal pradesh in the name of saving environment. The statesmen of arunchal pradesh dont know what to do and they have approached the ministry of external affairs regarding this issue. SM Krishna might be thinking that they are coming to report against Chinese but they came to complain about his own colleague.

In Adarsh scam when everybody is concerned about the political corruption, he thought about it in an environment aspect asking why the whole building not to be demolished as its build against rules .

His hyper-activism crossed limits when he declared that children of India are influenced by Harry potter films and started raising owls as pets. Do you know any kid who is having a owl as a pet?

He claimed that all the SUV owners are criminals as they are using subsidized diesel, if they are criminals, what should we call the people who are going to get subsidized food  even though they can buy it according to NAC plan to provide subsidised food for 75% of Indians.

I dont deny the fact that we need to save the environment. But saving the environment is not like saving a Heritage building in middle of the city, we need to save environment to save ourselves and our future. But in the name of “saving environment” we cant demolish all the building and start living in caves again. Extremism is bad, even when it comes to saving environment. We need to maintain the balance. 

Leaking !!

Few discussions of Ratan Tata with his corporate lobbyist are leaked. And lots of documents from Pentagon was leaked by wikileaks. The first one will be interesting to public, they might want to know the personal life of the businessman. And the other will interest terrorists who might want to know about the pentagon secrets or talibans who wants to know the secrets of NATO forces working in Afghanistan.

Why they have to provide the information to public (which includes terrorists) which might harm the nation or which invades the personal life of someone. How would we feel if wikileaks provides the information about Nuclear missiles in India, Pakistan could use that information. What if the documents leaked by it have the names of scientists who are working on Agni Missiles? Or what type of technology is used in the missiles, wont you think enemies to our nation would use that info to figure out flaws in the missiles? And that knowledge would give them an upper hand when its a war.

Once journalism  was all about telling the truth which is useful in nature to public. Now it seems journalists are putting more affords on giving the information which people like to know. ‘Headlines today” gives info on bollywood gossip at primetime. One telugu news channel airs remixed songs at 7pm, Hindustan Times prints picture of Dhoni and his wife having fun at a beach where his wife’s panty is visible on the front page, and telugu channel TV9 made a one hour program on those pics. All most all the telugu news channels air shows about masala songs after 11pm. When there is a wedding of a celebrity it will be like oo-pe-ku-ha like in a jandhyala movie (telugu). (ఊళ్ళో పెళ్ళికి కుక్కల హడావిడి ). They provide minute details right from the cost of the brides saree to the number of items at the  dinner party. If you remember marriage of sania mirza you will know what I mean. We expect news from news channels, not entertainment or gossips, we have zoom and NDTV goodtimes  for that purpose.

The point is just like all politicians are not bad…..all non-politicians are not good either…our society has thieves and terrorists in it. And some sensitive information should not reach them, and we cant expect them to not to react when the information available to general public when it can be used against the public. The journalists are called the fourth estate (after executive , legislature and judiciary). They have the power to make opinions in public. Their active participation against corruption is  necessary (like in adarsh building scam and like in tehelka case). Their responsibility is not to entertain people like an item song…they should be the ‘elites’ who enlighten people about their rights. What public want and what’s good for public are not same always.

People might be interested in topics like, if the actor is using the same company innerwear he is brand ambassador for, that’s the topic for the shows like coffee with karan and movie-promotion shows. The topic for the news channels would be the actor’s wealth and if he is paying the tax or not.

The End of Charisma

Recently people of Bihar re-elected Nitish Kumar as their CM. And everybody praising Nitish for development of Bihar. I agree to that.

But the poll results shows more than that. It shows that personal-charisma might not work all the time when it comes to elections.

BJP has won the election without bringing hidutva and anything related to it. It has done the feat without taking the help of Narendra Modi or Varun Gandhi in election campaign. So it is actually possible to get votes without raising the topic of religion.

People once again laughed at Lalu’s jokes in election campaign and made him a laughing stock after the elections. So vote-for-laugh wont work anymore. It was proven 5 years back that caste lost his control over Bihar politics and its proved once again.

The charisma of “pretty face of congress, the future PM, the saviour of indian politics, the representative of young india sri sri sri Rahul Gandhi” did not work either. He must be wondering how come his charisma worked in neighbouring state UP  but not in Bihar.

The charisma of leaders did not help the BJP to win, and it could not save RJD and Congress from losing.

అవును మన సంస్కృతి సంప్రదాయాలు నాశనం అయిపోతున్నాయి ….. పరాయి దేశాల ప్రభావం మనం మీద ఎక్కువ అవుతోంది….ఎంతో గోప్పవయిన మన భారతీయ సంస్కృతీ సంప్రదాయాలని మనం కాపాడుకోవాలంటే మనం కొన్ని పనులు చెయ్యాలి …

1. ఆంగ్లం, తెలుగు కాకుండా సంస్కృతం నేర్పించాలి,

2. ఈ పాంట్లు మానేసి ఊడిపోతున్న సరే పంచ కట్టుకుని తిరగాలి ….అలాగే ఆడవాళ్లు కాళ్ళకి అడ్డం పడుతున్నా సరే ఎంత ఇబ్బందిగా ఉన్న సరే చీరలు, లంగా ఓణి ధరించాలి

3. పంతుళ్ళు అందరు పిలకలతోనే ఉండాలి , schools, universities తీసేసి గురుకుల వ్యవస్థ ని మళ్ళి మొదలు పెట్టాలి ….గురువు గారి ఇంట్లో వంట పని, ఇంటి పని చేసుకుంటూ చక్కగా చదువుకోవచ్చును .

4. సినిమాలు తీసేసి , నాటకానికి ప్రాముఖ్యత ఇవ్వాలి, అందులోను సాగాదీసి పాడే పద్యాలూ ఉన్న వాటికీ ఎక్కువ ప్రాముఖ్యత ఇవ్వాలి

5. ఆడపిల్లల చదువు మానిపిచ్చేసి, ఇంట్లో కూర్చోబెట్టాలి ….నిరుద్యోగ సమస్య కొంత తీరుతుంది ….ఆడవాళ్ళూ చదువుకోవడం వల్ల ఏంటేంటో అభ్యుదయభావాలు , స్త్రీ స్వేచ్చ అవి ఇవి అంటున్నారు ….కాస్త గోల తగ్గుతుంది ….ముఖ్యంగా అరుంధతీ రాయ్ గోల ఉండేది కాదు !!

6. సతి వ్యవస్థని పునురుద్దీకరించాలి …భర్త పోతే భార్యని చితి మీద తోసేయ్యాలి, ఒక్క దెబ్బకి రెండు పిట్టలు …..జనాభా తగ్గుతుంది !

7. ఆంగ్లేయులు తెచ్చిన ఈ మోటర్ వాహనాలు వొద్దు , రోడ్ మీద పేడ వేస్తూ , నెమ్మదిగా వెళ్ళే ఎడ్లబండి ని వాడాలీ , రోడ్ ప్రమాదాలు తక్కువ అవుతాయి .

8. అలాగే ఎలెక్ట్రిక్ బుల్బులకి బదులు లాంతరులు, ఫ్యాన్ల బదులు తాటాకు విసినకర్రలు వాడాలి ….మన పూర్వీకులు అవే వాడేవారు !!
